(This about the restaurant area) I was not allowed in the pool sitting area by the guards due to my hijab. The guards said that this was due to alcohol (wouldn’t elaborate) and even went as far to say that Morocco isn’t an Islamic country. They finally told my group of friends that if we wanted to complain we could call the administration which wasn’t open till the morning. In the morning I called the hotel and the reasoning behind this ruling was that alchohol is served and hijab simply doesn’t suit their image. The woman on the line was rude and when we asked to speak to the owner, we were quickly dismissed. It is bizarre how a 5 star hotel/ restaurant blatantly discriminates and humiliates during this day and age especially in Morocco, a country where the majority of the population are practicing Muslims. Finally, we’re glad we weren’t let in since investing in this backwards establishment would be an utter disgrace. Serving alchohol, loud music and serving pork isn’t what’s going to make this place progressive, what is however, is giving the people the freedom of choice. And if this is simply your policy, than it’s time to decolonize your mindset, because this is...
Read moreBig disappointment. Let's start with the positive, the hotel is new and rooms are decent and modern. For the rest it's a horrible place, we booked a seaview room but got a room facing a wall and the other rooms which can see straight inside our room / bed therefore we had to keep the curtains closed at all time. The lighting in the rooms is poor and very noisy, especially from the pool area which turns into a club from 12pm to 3 am. The pool area is so crowded with outside party goers that it's not a place you can relax or even want to venture. The internet connection is poor and therefore the smart tv not working. There is only 1 tiny lift definitely not enough and its dangerous as door closes on you without warning. The parking of car is on the dirt as only decent places are reserved for VIPs which are seemly not coming as the spaces are always empty. We left the hotel between 11am and 6 pm but room was still not made up. Conclusion very poor and do...
Read moreI severely caution against anyone booking this expecting a 5 or even a 4 star experience. This was the worst hotel experience after 3 months of travelling, including 2 weeks in Morocco.
The front desk staff are really nice and try to make the best of the situation but the rooms and facilities are incredibly run down and dirty, housekeeping does a very poor job even missing pillow cases in some instances.
We ended up asking to be moved, the photos added are the best of 4 rooms we saw which were all dirty with lights not working massive stains on the carpet and no bathroom in the traditional sense.
The “best room” still had huge yellow stains, cigarette burns on the carpets, the water glasses were dirty, was missing a mug, a robe, and had ants in the bed. This is also the “mountain view” of a construction site and apartment blocks.
There is also no gym.
Breakfast is very cheap but not nice, the fruit was...
