Rating: 1/5 Stars (if it were possible, I'd rate it lower)||||Where do I even begin? My recent stay at the Grand Mogador Sea View was an unmitigated disaster from start to finish. This establishment has managed to excel in every aspect of failure, leaving me utterly appalled and regretful for having set foot inside its walls.||||Let's start with the basics: cleanliness. Or should I say, the lack thereof. The entire Grand Mogador Sea View reeked of neglect and indifference. The carpets were stained, the furniture was worn-out, and old, I don't even know from where they got any stars||||But wait, it gets worse. The staff—what a joke. Rude, incompetent, and utterly unhelpful. It's as if they were actively trying to make my stay as miserable as possible. From the front desk to the housekeeping staff, each encounter left me more exasperated than the last. Requests for basic amenities were met with blank stares or outright ignored. Customer service? Non-existent.||||And let's not forget the pièce de résistance: the food. If you can even call it that. The breakfast buffet at the Grand Mogador Sea View resembled a sad, abandoned wasteland of stale pastries and lukewarm coffee. I wouldn't feed it to my worst enemy, let alone pay exorbitant prices for the privilege of consuming it.||||Oh, and did I mention the noise? Apparently, the Grand Mogador Sea View's idea of soundproofing is throwing a thin layer of paper between the walls. I could hear every conversation, every door slam, and every footstep from neighboring rooms. It was like trying to sleep in the middle of Times Square during rush hour.||||In summary, if you enjoy subpar accommodations, abysmal service, and the distinct feeling of being ripped off, then by all means, book a stay at the Grand Mogador Sea View. But if you have even an ounce of self-respect or dignity, do yourself a favor and steer clear of this dump. There are plenty of other hotels in the area that will provide a far more...
Read moreMy son and I stayed here for three nights and it was a different sort of experience. I knew going in that they are renovating and the common areas look quite nice.
The “not bad, not good” - Housekeeping does not seem to make it a priority to freshen the rooms - fresh towels must be requested. It is obvious that the hotel’s facelift is due and if they pay as much attention when they redo the rooms and facilities as they did to the reception, I believe it will indeed be good. If being able to swim is important you may want to check in advance before booking. Neither the indoor nor outdoor pools are in use right now. The back gate that allows access to the beach is currently kept locked but it is easy to walk around the block to get to it. The location of the hotel is a bit outside of town so you may want to plan on taking cabs for meals, ordering delivery, or eating at the restaurant.
The Unavoidable - heavy construction is going on across the road from the front of the hotel. It is probably best to request a room looking out on the ocean as the Mountain View is predominately a construction zone and loud.
The Good - I cannot stress how wonderful the staff working the desk and restaurant were. Everyone was very kind and seemed to be very solicitous to guests’ requests. We added breakfasts to our reservations and had our dinners here since we were tired from touring. This was definitely a good idea on our part. Meals were very good and I look forward to attempting to replicate some of them once we are home.
I can understand some of the complaints in the reviews but I feel that we were treated well. This was our first time visiting Morocco and I look forward...
Read moreOld and not like described in pictures. - The hotel is a ghost of its past self. I would say at his prime (10 years ago) the establishment was okay, which you can see by the pictures they’ve chosen for their website and booking page. This is definitely not a 5 star hotel, at best 3 stars. The reason we booked this hotel was for the spa and the gym, which were closed. If you advertise your establishment as hotel AND SPA, you should change your marketing content.
Vibe: Everything could use a renewal, the paint on the walls, carpet in the room, sanitaires, patio could be improved, furniture in the lobby.
Breakfast: Breakfast is at best average, we stayed 4 days and no changes everyday the same thing. Omelettes and pankaces were good, but pastries, cheeses hams were definitely older than one day.
Pool: Some unfortunate turn of event made the team decide to blast music from a very old misplaced speaker. The « music » (sound at this point) was so loud and of bad quality it was unbearable. we did ask to turn it off, and after a few complaints they finally turned it off. Overall the pool is the best feature of the hotel, but really nothing special.
Room: The room is big, bed is confortable bathroom old, bathtub very old. Tv basic, terrasse dirty, old windows that were not closing properly kept us awake all night because slamming because of the wind (bear in mind that tangier is an extremely Windy City so something to be expected).
Graduation party. Cherry on top our last night there was a graduation party in the patio. Super loud music and the hotel...
