We booked two rooms and had hundreds of dollars stolen from both rooms - DO NOT STAY HERE.
You will now see the lies from the Manager/Owner below. Just a couple of responses: A - there are no State laws in Australia about the amount of money you can claim on Insurance - slamming that lie. B - alcohol is Haram in Morocco, slamming the lie about being intoxicated C - the police have accepted our report that the exact amount of money was stolen by someone with access to the keys at L’Hostel Casablanca D - whilst there are two different keys to access two different rooms, staff (including the manager) have access to all keys…… (make up your own mind there). E - money was stolen - $250 from our room and $300 from our son’s room - that’s a fact F - he us factually incorrect about the process - my son noticed he had money stolen, then came to the room to tell us, at which point we looked and saw that money had been stolen from our room G - we said that he finally called the police - which he did - after lots of pleading from us and after he had made lots of phone calls to other people - unsure who or about what H - we did not flood any room I - I am a full professor J - given the fact that the manager/owner has used his time/energy to try to question my character and story, rather than apologise for money being stolen from his hostel (if he had tried to apologise and make things right from the beginning, we would not have had the recourse to make negative reviews - simple humility and common sense should have prevailed)…… my advice would be to spend your money elsewhere, rather than give it to a thief and a liar.
I HOPE THIS REVIEW STOPS PEOPLE FROM STAYING AT THIS HOSTEL - SAVE YOUR MONEY FROM...
Read moreThey stole our money - do not stay here. We booked two rooms and both had money stolen. The manager was completely unhelpful and uncaring so we asked him to call the police which he refused to do for more than an hour. He tried to then tell the police that my husband, a Professor, was attacking him and his staff. We are here in Morocco to attend and present at an international conference trying to make the world a better place. We are insulted by this man’s behaviour towards us.
He claimed to the police we were intoxicated - completely untrue. We asked multiple times for the police to be called, we waited in the middle of the night for them to be called, we waited for the police to arrive, we spoke with police and then my husband and son went with the police to the station to make statements returning to the hotel at 5am. French is not our first language but it was clear that the manager was telling the police in French things that were untrue (we could tell by his gestures).
We did not flood the room - this is a lie.
Morocco is filled with beautiful locals, such a shame that we were treated this...
Read moreGreat safe location. Super friendly staff and the cats made it all the more lovely. The building itself is an Instagram dream, both inside and outside. All of the colours were perfect, especially on a warm day.
The problem experienced was that the reviews were so high that the expectation was set high. I came to the room and it was designed beautifully but the ground floor meant that occasionally people knocked on our door thinking we were staff rooms. Or that the cats would fight each other right under our window. The biggest concern I had was that the taps were sticky with some sort of residue that'd seemingly been there for years. The air conditioning couldn't turn on and I think it's because of a faulty remote control.
The breakfast was ok too but I'd hoped more of the food was protected from the flies landing on them. I'd also hoped that there was a plant based alternative to milk as it seemed like the type of place that had it.
I'm absolutely splitting hairs here but, as mentioned, the expectation was significantly higher. That said, I'd love to visit again and try...
