Just returned from visit to various places in Morocco, and the first night I stayed at the Hotel Al Walid, I think around the 29th of September. Cannot find the reservation now, but I really want to give a A+++++++++++ to the gentleman who checked us in, and extended himself beyond the call of duty to ensure we had appropriate accommdations. ||His name is ABDESSAMAD, and he totally made our stay at this hotel. I needed a walk-in shower because of difficulty with climbing in and out of tubs. Abdessamad made that happen, and I am very grateful to him for his outstanding hospitality.||My room was small, but clean and everything I needed to be comfortable. ||I only stayed one night before I joined a tour, but I really want the hotel to know what a wonderful asset Abdessamad is to their company. It is evident he is a person who genuinely enjoys his profession, and he is a great ambassador for the hotel, and Morocco.||Many thanks, Abdessamad. We will always remember your warm...
Read moreExtremely Disappointing Experience Not Recommended I stayed at this hotel for one night before my trip, and it was a very unpleasant experience. Upon arrival, the front desk staff clearly sensed that I urgently needed a room and took advantage of the situation by offering me a high rate with no flexibility. To make matters worse, I was shocked to find out that the room had no air conditioning, despite the extreme heat. When I went back to inquire, the receptionist responded in a rude and unprofessional manner, stating that the AC was broken and hadn’t been fixed yet. He refused to change the room or offer any solution. The room was stuffy and unbearably hot, making it impossible to rest or relax. This is not the kind of service any tourist should have to deal with, especially in a warm country where air conditioning is essential. I strongly advise tourists to look for other accommodation options that treat guests with respect and provide...
Read morePros: convenient location that is a 5 min walk to Casa Voyagers train station. A great location to catch a Careem or cab (remember you have to haggle for a reasonable taxi price). Lots of little restaurants nearby and pharmacy is located next door. My shower always has hot water the and housekeeping staff of wonderful My bed was comfortable.
Cons: Rooms are just okay- small and dated. The restaurant has mediocre food for the price they charge. I paid for my room online in full before arriving at the hotel. The male staff members attempted to con me out of money. I had to demand my change and receipt back from them and get another staff member involved to do so. I can take the train to the airport- the male receptionist attempted to trap me into a taxi scam.
