Stayed here with my girlfriend for one night. We parked in the main Essaouria car park, where there are porters who will take your bags to the hotel in a cart which costs 20 dirham. This hotel has two of it's own porters which can be identified by the logos on the carts. You can't drive into the old town.||The hotel is a beautiful Riad, very stylish. The owner gave has a warm welcome and some really nice coffee on arrival.||The room was nice, but unfortunately not perfect. There was hair in the shower and sink (black hair, so definitely not ours!). The shower didn't drain very well, so on first use it overflowed and got our clothes on the floor wet before we noticed what was happening.||The doors to all rooms are closed using large traditional bolts, however, they are stiff to operate and very loud. The sound travels through the Riad. It didn't bother us, but it would certainly wake up a light sleeper.||The roof terrace is really nice and there's a kitchen up there where breakfast is prepared and served. The breakfast was very good. At checkout, the owner called a porter who came to collect our bags, so that was nice and easy.||Without the cleaning issue, drainage issue and noisey door locks, it would be a 5/5. But, based on my personal experience, 3/5 is fair.||The price was very reasonable for how beautiful the hotel is, but regardless of price, I expect everything in a room to function correctly and be...
Read moreRiad Khan Mogador truly exceeded all my expectations. From the moment you arrive, you can feel the love and care the owners and staff have poured into every corner of this place. The rooms are beautifully decorated with refined taste and thoughtful touches—like water, dates, and nuts waiting for you upon arrival.
The rooftop is stunning and well-sheltered from the wind, offering a peaceful retreat above the medina. The energy throughout the riad is calm, warm, and uplifting. The staff is exceptional—genuinely dedicated to making your stay unforgettable. Their attention to detail and hospitality reflect a deep passion for what they do and Moroccan hospitality of course!
What makes this place even more special is that it’s Moroccan-owned and environmentally conscious. Small but meaningful efforts—no plastic bottles, linen hand towels instead of paper, slippers provided to keep the space clean—show their respect for both tradition and sustainability.
And the food… As a Moroccan, I can say it’s truly next level. Everything is handmade with care, from the jams to the breads, and the cuisine is authentic, locally sourced, and absolutely delicious. You can taste the heart behind every dish prepared by the amazing women in the kitchen.
The location couldn’t be better—right in the medina, just a short walk from the beach, souk, and port. I wholeheartedly recommend Riad Khan Mogador and can’t...
Read moreMy experience at this establishment was a complete failure and demonstrates a blatant lack of professionalism. Our booking was compromised on the day of arrival by a forced relocation to another hotel, apparently because the initial establishment had been privatized for the night. The replacement accommodation was of a scandalously inferior standard: it was a smaller room, extremely noisy, offered minimal comfort, and lacked essential shower products. Such a disparity in quality is unacceptable and significantly detracted from our stay. The worst part was the attitude of the manager, who was completely uncooperative upon our arrival and subsequently failed to respond to our solicitations. Instead of assuring us that we would be cared upon and refunded, he kept saying there was nothing he could do. The failure to anticipate this situation and the refusal to provide equivalent accommodation suggests poor customer relationship management. We are still trying to reach out to the establishment for a refund without any response. I realize the potential of this Riad to offer pretty accomodations but if you are looking for a reliable establishment with a genuine commitment to customer service, this one is...
