Where do I start… I came here with high expectations after seeing so many positive posts on social media, but unfortunately, the experience left me very disappointed.
On the positive side, the service was good overall especially the lady with short hair, who was super nice, friendly, and attentive. I had to wait a while under the sun to find a spot with an umbrella, but once seated, I ordered the fish burger with lemonade. The meal was tasty, though a bit greasy, and I appreciated trying something different from what I usually eat.
The problem started about 30 minutes to an hour after the meal, when I began experiencing stomach discomfort that lasted the entire day. I couldn’t eat anything else, had to take medication, and the pain continued into the night. I don’t usually get sick easily, so this was very disappointing and ruined part of my trip.
I truly wish I had chosen something else instead of following the hype on social media. I cannot recommend this place, getting sick on vacation because of food is just not worth it. What worries me even more is that I saw children eating there, I really hope they didn’t go through the same experience I did!!!
Edit to reply on the owner: I ate at your restaurant 2 weeks ago (just had time to write some reviews today) while the other review of the chicken burger which i had it only two days ago, so the pain i experienced was 100% because of your fish burgers just own it please and fix the issue + I'm not the only one who experienced this. If you check closely the chicken burger place is in Casablanca and the fish burger was in essaouira, crazy to think the two are related or ate there on...

Always on the lookout for hidden gems in Essaouira after a good surf or kitesurf session, I stumbled across fishburger, tucked right in the heart of the medina.
📍 The location is charming, nestled in a narrow alley, typical of the old medina, with outdoor seating right along the passage. This setup gives it a unique vibe, but keep in mind: pedestrians pass right next to your table, so don’t expect much privacy while eating.
👥 The staff are one of the best parts of this place. Very friendly, multilingual (French, English, and Spanish), and extremely helpful — they go through the entire menu with you and are happy to answer any questions. Their professionalism adds real value to the experience.
🍽️ As for the food:
The burger was decent — not a “wow,” but enjoyable.
The sides and sauces were also good and felt homemade.
But overall, it didn't live up to the high price tag.
💰 The prices felt too expensive for what you get. Even considering the good service, the food quality didn’t quite justify the bill.
✅ Recommended for: Tourists looking for a quick, casual bite in the medina
