This place is relatively close to the airport: 15 minutes in the evening. Less so in the morning: on Saturday, staff advised leaving an hour earlier than I had assumed but it still took 15 minutes. Maybe on another Saturday morning it wouldn't. Who can say? ||The taxi, which I thought was a free shuttle, requested payment of MMK 6000, which was reasonable, and I added a tip because he was so nice.||The room was fine, demonstrating the usual Southeast Asian quirks like bedside table that had to be moved a metre to allow the door to open. The AC worked well. There was a large balcony devoid of seating. The shower had controllable temperature. The TV had all sorts of interesting channels.||The in-house massage service was very good. Highly recommended after a long day of travel. In room or for cheaper go to the spa.||Breakfast was excellent: a wide range of foodstuffs in a small space with CNN bothering away in case you didn't want to interact with your phone.||I recommend tipping the bellboy generously. He looks like he hasn't...
Read moreThis was my last night in Myanmar & I booked hotel for its proximity to airport (15 min without traffic) & recommendation of guide in Yangon & TA Reviews. Very disappointing...|||Good side is that it is quiet and bed is comfortable. They also stored my luggage while I went to Bagan a couple of nights.||Wifi is via prepaid codes that last for 5-hrs, so ask for several of them to last 24hrs.||On the minus side...||A/C looked like there was a leak & possibly moldy (see photo). I woke up to tiny ants in the bed and bathroom sink, and A/C condensation had leaked onto my things on table below it :-(||Asked for nonsmoking & put in smoking room. ||Breakfast was limited & had WORST coffee of my 1-month visit in SE Asia. Server was not friendly and “hot” food was cold. Tempura-style veggies were soggy & cold. At least there was fruit.||Staff doesn’t speak English well & no manager on site.||Surrounding area isn’t great. No real restaurants to walk to. Short taxi rides to Gemstone Museum & airport.||Overpriced for what you get. I...

On the other hand, the aircon in the dining area was blasting very cold air.||||Food wise, the buffet breakfast had a sufficient (don't expect 5* hotel style of course) variety suitable for the foreign palate while also having some local dishes to try. Ordered dinner one of the nights and the noodles were so salty. Noticed some people ordered room service and left plates with noodles, still 90% full outside their rooms for clearing, so it wasn't just us that found the noodles too salty.||||In summary, decent and safe place to be staying in your stay that isn't too expensive but provides an acceptable and...
