Overall, the 5 days 4 nights stay was ok. BUT, I hope my reviews can help the management team looks more into conducting more trainings to staff. I dont judge on 1 staff but experiences from many staff from different departments: Receptionist: I booked and paid via Agoda, the confirmation email is sent. If my booking is not shown on your system, it is the problem between your hotel with the Agoda, the staff told me to wait for her to check. Ok, I can wait but it was around 30 minutes more without offering any water or urgently checking, just me waiting and need to come to the counter to talk to her so she can try to be faster in checking. She was just passively doing something else instead of having any initiatives to solve the problem but I need to come to ask her to check? This is not 5-star staff hotel.
Housekeeping: I noticed after 2 days stay: the glasses I used, they didnt wash. There was some butter bag in the corner of the floor for days, it meant they didnt clean the floor well, very carelessly. One day, lacking the towel on the floor, another day, forgot to change and give the new sleeping clothes to the wardrobe. Not cleaning the room properly. Tried 2 restaurants at the lobby, 2 times they didnt give me the change and receipts. First time, i was thinking it was too less so they didnt give the change? So i ignored it. 2nd time, I need to ask for the receipt and the change when they forgot.
After all, this experience makes me think Wyndham is better in terms of room services and staff attitude after I tried Novotel,...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at Melia Hotel Yangon for the first time, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and highly professional, making check-in smooth and efficient.
The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and elegantly designed, offering stunning views of Inya Lake and the city. The bed was extremely comfortable, and all the amenities provided were of top quality – from the luxurious toiletries to the well-stocked minibar and high-speed Wi-Fi.
One of the highlights of my stay was the breakfast buffet. The variety and quality of both local and international dishes were impressive, and the staff at the restaurant were attentive and courteous throughout.
The hotel's facilities, including the fitness center and swimming pool, were well-maintained and provided the perfect balance of relaxation and convenience. The location is also ideal – connected to Myanmar Plaza and close to key city spots, yet peaceful enough for a restful night's sleep.
Overall, my first stay at Melia Yangon was an excellent experience. I would gladly return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Yangon, whether for...
Read moreI recently had the chance to try the Mediterranean Business Set Lunch at Olea, the Mediterranean restaurant at Melia Hotel, and it was a truly satisfying experience. The menu offers a well-balanced selection of starters, mains, and desserts, with enough variety to please both meat lovers and vegetarians. I began with the Seafood Salad, which was refreshing and light, with tender poached seafood complemented by orange segments and a bright mandarin dressing. For the main course, the Mediterranean Beef Stew, a hearty dish that highlights slow-cooked comfort food with olives and seasonal vegetables. Dessert was a highlight. The Strawberry Cheesecake with berry compote and vanilla ice cream was indulgent without being too heavy. Overall, the business set lunch at Olea is a great value. The portions are generous, the flavors are authentic, and the presentation feels refined yet approachable. Whether you’re having a business meeting or simply treating yourself to a mid-day escape, Olea offers a delightful Mediterranean dining experience in the heart...
