This restaurant can easily feature as one of the "must-do" places in Kathmandu! We were pleasantly surprised at the beautiful, out-doorsy arrangement of tables. The restaurant is built along a hill slope, and tables are placed at different and separate "terraces". The thatched roof, open huts offers privacy and also security against weather. The entrance begins with a Japanese bridge across a gushing stream. The courtyard is cemented and after that one climbs up a few steps and led to their tables. The view is scenic and a photographer's delight. The drinks and food are mainly Nepali and Asian cuisine. Our order consisted of both Veg and Non Veg items. We enjoyed our afternoon thoroughly, savouring the jhol Momos, Prawn Tempura starters. The mushroom and paneer starters were also good, and I should add that there is a wide range to choose from, for vegetarians here. The portion sizes are very satisfactory and the presentation, hygiene and quality of preparation was beyond expectations. I highly recommend Dekkaido Onsen farm restaurant to anyone who wishes for a leisurely lunch experience in the lap of nature! Also, they offer tents for those who wish to stay overnight. There were both kinds of sleeping arrangements: floor level mattresses ,or beds, to choose from. Don't miss...
Read moreMy family and I went here and the atmosphere and food was totally awesome. It was a rainy day so we ate jhol momo obviously and it was quite tasty but they can definitely improve on the flavour more. We also had a pork bento box which had a veg sushi roll, rice, veggies etc etc which was great. I would recommend this bento box of you like something plain and simple and easy on the stomach. We also ordered a kids platter for the kids which the kids seemed to enjoy. Lastly we had a chicken sizzler which was also good. The chicken was well cooked. Really enjoyed eating the sizzler. Maybe increase the noodles portion a bit? Almost forgot we also had drinks. We had pineapple, an apple juice and a strawberry milkshake. The strawberry milkshake had a pretty artificial taste and color which I do not prefer but the kids surely loved it. Our server Lalita was really sweet and really nice towards us. Her service was top notch!! 10/10. The other staffs were really helpful for finding us the perfect seating for our family. The overall experience at dekkaido onsen was lovely. I will surely be...

The farm-to-table dining experience was exceptional, with fresh, locally sourced ingredients prepared to perfection. Every dish reflected care and authenticity, leaving us thoroughly impressed. Easily one of the best Japanese I've had in Nepal. The sekuwa also a huge highlight. Be sure to go on Saturdays 2pm to 7pm.
