Enjoyable place. Pros: Beautiful Location: The Himalayan Hotel is located in a very accessible location in Lalitpur. Spacious: The party palace is quite spacious and can accommodate a large number of people. It's great for hosting big events like weddings, receptions, and corporate events. Professional Staff: The staff at the party palace is professional, courteous, and well-trained. They make sure that the guests have a pleasant experience and everything is taken care of. Quality Food: The food served at the Himalayan Hotel is of excellent quality, with a variety of cuisines to choose from. Well-maintained: The party palace is well-maintained, with clean and hygienic surroundings. Cons: Expensive: The prices at the Himalayan Hotel can be on the higher side, making it less accessible for budget-conscious customers. Limited Parking: The parking space at the party palace is limited, making it difficult to accommodate a large number of vehicles. Weather-dependent: The party palace is located in a region where the weather can be unpredictable. This can be a problem for outdoor events, especially during the monsoon season. Thankfully there are plenty of space inside if need be. Limited Amenities: The party palace has limited amenities, such as a swimming pool, gym, or spa. This may be a disadvantage for customers who are looking for more recreational activities. Overall, the Himalayan Hotel is a great place to host events, especially if you are looking for a scenic location and professional staff. However, the high prices and limited amenities may not be suitable for everyone.

Very nice Hotel In Kathmandu. It located 2 km from the city centre and market, Hotel Himalaya offers boutique accommodation with free private parking. It is nestled within 10 acres of landscaped garden. Boasting an outdoor swimming pool, the hotel offers 2 dining options and panoramic views of Himalayan ranges. The property is within 10 minute walking distance from United Nation's House, WHO Office and Norwegian, Swiss and Malaysian embassies. The property is 2 km to Patan Durbar Square. Tribhuvan Airport is 6 km from the hotel. Each air-conditioned room is equipped with a cable TV, seating area, desk and wardrobe. Shower facilities are included in an en suite bathroom. Guests can arrange a trip to various attractions at the on-site tour desk. Laundry services are available. Meeting/banquet facilities and a business centre are provided. Helpful staff can offer assistance with shuttle service arrangements. A game of tennis can be enjoyed. A wide range of Indian, Chinese and Continental cuisine can be sampled at Café Horizon. Terrace Dining serves a variety of gourmet delights. Drinks can be enjoyed at The Tea Lounge and Base Camp Bar. All things are good but Some management weaknesses are seen. I had attend a Training program at Green Hall on fourth day Hotel Management transfer training hall in other place without any agreement.

Having recently attended a wedding ceremony at Hotel Himalaya, I was immediately enchanted by its mesmerizing location. Nestled amidst scenic landscapes, the venue offered breathtaking views that added a touch of magic to the festivities. While the location was undeniably stunning, I found the culinary experience to be somewhat disappointing. The food, unfortunately, did not live up to the expectations set for a special occasion like a wedding. The flavors were lacking, and the overall quality was not up to the mark. Additionally, the management of the event left much to be desired. Coordination and efficiency seemed to be lacking. This aspect detracted from the overall joy of the event, as smoother execution would have undoubtedly enhanced the experience for everyone involved. For example, the hot water needed to be ordered and was not readely avaliable. The dishes were for refilled within the time and delays were observed. In summary, Hotel Himalaya boasts a mesmerizing location that sets the stage for memorable events. However, improvements in both culinary offerings and event management would greatly contribute to elevating the overall experience for guests attending special occasions at this venue.

This was our second time at the hotel. We came back to stay here for two nights because we liked its Executive Room, and location. We were so excited to be here but alas this hotel disappointed us. We felt that this hotel absolutely do not care for a repeat guests and loyalty. It only cares to extract as much money out of you as possible and the people, including guest relations are rude and shows no attempt in retaining the customers.

The incident basically goes like this-we had couple family members come and enjoy the pool (note my husband and I weren’t using it but were hanging out by the pool). It was not mentioned anywhere in the brochures that there would be charge for using the swimming pool by guests’friends. And there are no visible signs anywhere near the pool indicating such. We had no reasons to assume that we couldn’t have our friends use the pool without paying a charge because every other western hotel we have stayed at, that haven’t been the case. Just as our family members were getting out of the pool, one of the staff inquired about whether our family members were staying at this hotel and rudely asked us to go talk to his manager. So we went to do so, his manager was even more rude. He told us in an unfriendly way that the policy is we cannot have our friends use the pool; when we said we weren’t aware of this, he said we should have asked. How the hell we were supposed to assume this? I told him they hadn’t even been in the water for 30 mins, he briskly told us we would be charged Rs 2000 including tax and service fee even if it is for 5 mins. He then rudely asked what’s our room number so he can charge us. Now, mind you, we have spent lots of money at this hotel-not just for staying but inviting friends and family to enjoy the restaurants and bar because we liked this hotel. When we have spent so much money, they couldn’t let this confusion from our side go, they were stubborn about us paying Rs 2000 at the cost of ruining customer’s experience.

We wanted to give this hotel a chance, so we reached out to the guest relations to explain how the sports club staffs handled us. The guest relations was equally bad, the person didn’t attempt to solve our discontentment and parroted the policy to us again. We even told them we were here last year and we probably wouldn’t be back if this is how the guests are treated here. They were quite indifferent. Later at night, I called guest relations again since it was my husband who talked first and I thought I would explain the situation properly in Nepali to avoid any language barrier. I couldn’t talk to guest relations but talked to the front desk staff upon his insistence in explaining the situation. After all my explanation, he suggested me to talk to front desk manager instead of writing down my room number and telling me that he would convey my concern and have somebody reach out to us. At this point, we have given this hotel plenty of chances to fix the situation. Since they don’t care for us to be back, we of course won’t and will never suggest our friends and family or anybody to stay...

wedding planners beware *

Let me start of by saying, Hotel Himalaya never had a good reputation in my radar for event plannings but it was only out of a last minute compulsion and availability that I booked this hotel. I booked it for my engagement event in their “newly renovated” hall. After our first meeting itself, I haf repeatedly told my family something feels off about the F&B Manager at the hotel but because of our need, we decided to overlook it. The manager, Mr. Rajesh Yadav then started showing us the location and talking highly about extremely high paying customers with chartered flights and guests that have hosted events at the hotel. He made our demands seem almost minuscule given our guest attendance was only 80pax. Then with a food tasting and a food menu set over email and countless phone calls, we decided to proceed with our event there. On the day of the event, the event hall didn’t have its AC working. Our complaints were repeatedly ignored by Mr. Yadav and his staff. Then proceeding to the dinner service, the menu was completely different from what we had agreed upon. While we set a menu for chicken and mutton, we were served fish and smelly mutton and a completely different set of vegetable dishes we requested. It was almost as if we were served leftover food items from another event. After the event, when talking to Mr. Yadav, he repeatedly acted rude and nonchalant about the errors the hotel had made. Without an apology and compensation, we were demanded to pay the full amount because apparently “the billing had been already done and that fish was more expensive that chicken anyways and they did us a favor by putting it in the menu”.

So here’s my note to wedding planners in Kathmandu:

Do not opt for Himalaya Hotel if you want to have a stress free wedding/event planning. The F&B manager Mr. Rajesh Yadav has no experience whatsoever in dealing with customers and clearly only favors extremely wealthy and high paying customers for good service and treatment. As someone working in the food & hospitality industry, running my own successful travel agency, I will not be recommending or ever using Hotel Himalaya as an option for my own guests. I hope the hotel reads this and decides to change their management and service because with a service like this, no matter how good the infrastructure, the hotel will continue to loose valuable guests...

Very convenient and large serviced hotel in the Kathmandu valley - close to many good restaurants, shops and other facilities. A short distance to the airport and the old city of Kathmandu. Just top of the options in Kathmandu Valley, wonderful strategic situation, easy access to facilities, secured online 24H/day, 30 min from airport, safe water supplied, staff at foreigners know how level as required, perfect stay for research, recovery, rest, academic, tourism or biz basecamp of the higher quality for a very reasonable fees in such location. We stayed here for seven nights, found the rooms clean and tidy, very good choice of food on offer, staff very polite and helpful. Our room is spacious with an enclosed balcony which looks out over the city. The staff could not possibly be better - every person with whom we interacted was friendly and extremely helpful. We enjoyed the variety of food offered and learned much about the country by asking the wait staff what it was and how to eat it. Laundry service is quick and inexpensive. Comfortable, great food and great views , what more can you ask. All the staff were genuinely helpful and informative. Lots to see and do close by. An ideal base for the Kathmandu valley. The hotel is a notable local venue, and was used for a wedding party while we were there. This was an added entertainment and added to the experience. The service levels of Hotel Himalaya is best decribed as "always pleasing". The staff are not only courteous but also willing to put in the extra effort that suports "customer delight" ! Be it the doorman, the bell boys, the waiters all are service oriented. For health conscious peoples the foods might be quite oily because during my stay at the time of lunch and dinner the food server were mostly oily. But, if you are inside valley finding a reasonable priced hotel with all kind of premium facilities then do visit...
