Bricks Cafe — Restaurant in Lalitpur Metropolitan City

Bricks Cafe is a restaurant and bar located in Kupondole, Lalitpur, close to Patan and easily reachable. The building was built during the Rana Era. Most of the bricks have inscriptions showing that they were made around 1903. Great pains have been taken to ensure that the renovations in no way destroyed the building’s warm and welcoming character. And that’s what you will find there—genuine warmth and hospitality to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. The restaurant is a good 15 to 20 minute drive from the Thamel neighbourhood but it is very much worth the effort to get there. As soon as you enter the gate to the restaurant grounds the chaotic traffic and noise of Kathmandu seem to fade away. You enter a very attractive brick house where you can eat inside or at one of the tables outside in the back terrace area (this is where we dined). The restaurant is surrounded by a high wall which keeps the noise out and there is some entertainment where traditionally dressed Nepalese perform dances. We the team of 38 were there for dinner in August 2018. We had pre booked the tables over there. The food and drink options were varied, especially with different juices and drinks. Everything was tasty, and the service was fine. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great and had both indoor and outdoor seating. Wifi is available, and the restaurant accepts cash or cards. I recommend! For those with pure food indulgence in mind, go visit next door and sate your desires with their ever changing internationally and seasonally inspired small plates. They love food, lots of different food, just like us. They even promise an intimate and relaxed dining experience that offers something different to local and foreign patrons and ensures you enjoy a memorable food...
