It was easy to book via WhatsApp and Arjun offered to collect me from the bus stand which I hadn't even thought of (free of charge). The location is nice and central on the main strip of Sauraha and the restaurant handy for early breakfasts (they even agreed to use my soy milk when making my porridge as I have dietary restrictions).||I asked for a single standard room with no air con for 800 NPR. It was on the ground floor at the back of the property and was light and bright but looked onto a drum of empty water bottles and a somewhat dishevelled garden where they were burning rubbish. Perhaps a room on the second floor would have been nicer, looking out onto the rice paddies beyond the fence line but I suspect it would have also been one of the 1500 NPR rooms.||The mattresses were quite hard but at least I had 2 single beds so I could spread out my stuff as well as a hat stand and wardrobe hanger which came in handy for drying my laundry. The bathroom was huge and water very hot after the first shower.||Unfortunately every window in my room had a hole in the flyscreen or no screen at all and I realised that mosquitoes were getting in through the bathroom window which could not be closed. Needless to say I slept very poorly the 4 nights I was there as I was harassed by mosquitoes. The first night they couldn't find the hole in the mosquito net but still lingered right above my head then the following nights they got inside and I awoke scratching. I thought the fan would help to keep them away but it only had one setting which was high so I had to use ear plugs to sleep. I would have mentioned the window issue to Arjun but I got the impression there were no other rooms available and I couldn't be bothered packing up all my stuff to move rooms.||Arjun is really helpful and knowledgeable but you can tell he is a 'business man'. I was lucky enough to be able to join a full day jeep tour (operated by the hotel) which from all my inquiries is apparently quite difficult because most of them are private groups. Arjun said the Jeep cost 24000 NPR therefore would be split equally between myself and the other 2 people, so 8000NPR each (plus 2000NPR for the park permit). On the day it turned out another person joined us so I asked for a partial refund of 2000NPR given the cost would be split differently. Arjun was more than happy to oblige and took it off my final bill but I get the impression he would not have mentioned it if I didn't and I expect the original couple would have paid 12000NPR each with no partial refund. I suppose that's all fine if they were happy to pay that much.||All that aside the Jeep tour was great and we saw plenty of wildlife. Thakur was great at spotting the wildlife from afar and helped me take photos through his binoculars as I just had my phone camera with me. I would highly recommend it. I was going to do a full day walk the following day but the weather was so hot that even just being on a jeep all day is enough! ||I would consider staying again in a...
Read moreI was confused whether to rate Hotel Shiva's Dream 9 or 10 out of 10. The hospitality is amazing with beautiful architecture along with small garden in the entrance. The room I was facilited was most comfort, super clean, nicely decorated and covering all my needs. I personally spent two days here at Shivas' Dream, I must and donot hesitate to say that everything was excellent and surprisingly comfortable. From the time, I entered to the hotel met Prakash along with other staffs, to the time I left and was getting guidance and respect in a friendly manner. Check in and check out was smooth and friendly. The different varities of food served along with Indian, Nepalese, Chinese and Continental was amazing factor. Here I choosed typical Thakali Khana which was amazed in taste with Gundruk pickle along with other receipes in traditional flavour. Also the simple breakfast was super yummy. The carpet in the rooms was well concrete and worn.||The hotel itself feels like a home with cheap finishes. I was impressed by all the staff within the hotel, even they could organise everything. Hospitality is simply an opportunity to show love and care which I directly enhanced from Shivas' Dream.||||Beautiful World Heritage Site Chitwan National Park holds the beauty offorests, marshland and grassland containing sizeable animal populations, making it one of the best national parks for viewing wildlife. Here central core as Sauraha holds the major tourist destination. Elephant safari arranged by Prakash brother, one of the friendly staff of Shivas' Dream, provided me opportunity to get a closer view of the endangered one-horned rhinoceros along with a glimpse of Bengal Tiger. The view from the restaurant is of the bush land and gives a very peaceful, relaxing outlook. Every staff member I came across, had a smile and nothing was too much trouble, even the cleaners. It is a very well run hotel and staff look like they enjoy working there. Really unexpected experience all round and I cannot see the place serving in Sauraha as like Hotel Shivas' Dream does.||||All respect for the general manager and staffs who does a great job here; a true sample of excellent hospitality. Dear Friends, I recommend joining Hotel Shiva's Dream to take alot of advantages. All staff members were professional and pleasant. The overall standard of this Shiva's Dream Hotel and the guest friendly servicing from the staff was extra ordinary. Although I have stayed here multiple times and quality of service and detail remains the same. No doubt, I will certainly be staying...
