Rude staff... twice we had to engage the services of reception after hours, and twice they were rude to me. It takes a lot to make a guest walk out of a hotel room at 1am... but that is what I was forced to do when the staff at the hotel refused to help.

Let me break it down for you... we arrived late on Friday night due to inbound flight delays to find out that they had cancelled our reservation. Luckily we had been conversing with the hotel manager by email and he has stated that they were holding a room for us. After 30 minutes of the reception team unhelpfully telling us to contact Booking.com - they managed to come up with a solution. It seems they didn’t like the fact that we were talking back to them. I know it is not the Dutch people... they are lovely - so it must be just poorly trained staff who are unwilling to help a customer who made a booking in good faith through a partner website Booking.com

First night was sorted... we were placed in a triple room with three single beds, the room was basic, clean, functional, but the mattresses are too big for the base boards, which means if you roll over too far, you fall out of the bed... but we made do... checked out the following morning - and were told the Deluxe Double room that we originally booked was available - exceptional news...

After spending a fantastic day with the family, we arrived back to the hotel again late and were given a room - the room was pokey, small, beyond basic and again, the STANDARD double mattress was too small for the bed. Now my other half is 6’8” tall, and I am 5’11” tall... I’ve never seen him fall out of bed twice because there was not enough room in the bed for two of us... it didn’t help that the room was uncomfortably warm and it was 30 degrees outside.

So after almost getting concussion and quite a bad back ache from the total lack of support from the mattress, he decided to sleep on the floor!

No blankets in the room, no nothing to make a makeshift bed and so I called Reception... I was accused of making trouble and the bed was clearly big enough for the two of us - said the extremely rude receptionist... she raised her voice to us, stood at our door shouting at us - generally making us feel totally unwelcome and that we had done something wrong... all we did was complain that the large double bed they advertised on their website was actually a standard double with a small base board - again hence the reason why we kept falling out of bed when we tried to get comfortable.

Now I am no expert... tongue in cheek here, but isn’t the purpose of a hotel to enable you to get a good nights sleep? If you plan on doing this, I can recommend the Crowne Plaza, the Hyatt Regency, the Palace, in fact ANY hotel in Amsterdam that isn’t this one.

I am completely disgusted with the way I was spoken to, never in my life, and I have travelled a lot, have I walked out of a...

The hotel is situated on the outskirts of the city, which can be inconvenient if you're looking for a quick stop at the hotel room while feeling tired. Additionally, the last tram runs until around midnight, making it challenging to fully enjoy Amsterdam's nightlife unless you're willing to pay approximately €30 for a Bolt ride back to the hotel, or take occasional late-night buses that can take up to an hour.

The hotel is actually located on the top two floors of a residential building, and finding the entrance and the actual hotel can be somewhat confusing, as it requires navigating around the building to reach a side entrance.

Upon reaching the 8th floor, I received a warm welcome from a polite and courteous young man. Despite some negative reviews I had read about Amadi Panorama, my initial impressions were surprisingly positive.

While my room was very small, it did offer a fantastic view. The decor, although simple, was functional for the compact space. It did certainly not feel like a true 4-star experience at all, but it was quiet and peaceful, promising a comfortable night's sleep. The staff, while not overly friendly, were generally pleasant. Cleanliness was well-maintained. The breakfast was modest but offered a decent variety. There's also a complimentary coffee machine in the lobby, and 24/7 availability of fruit. At first I didn't encounter any major issues.

However, initial impressions proved to be misleading, as issues began to arise. When booking a room in a 4-star hotel at this price point and away from the city center, one expects at least a comfortable place to sleep. Unfortunately, this was not the case.

The most concerning issue was the malfunctioning air conditioner, leaving the room freezing, especially at night. Despite seeking assistance from the staff, no solution was provided. I discovered a noisy small radiator fan in the cupboard, which barely managed to maintain a reasonable room temperature but couldn't prevent the sheets from feeling damp and the walls and furniture from staying cold. Regrettably, the noise from the fan kept me awake throughout the night. The bed was also very uncomfortable as previous reviews pointed; the mattress was overly soft and the pillows were too hard and of poor quality. Furthermore, the towel rack heating in the bathroom was non-functional, resulting in a freezing experience. The TV signal was weak, with poorly tuned channels.

I decided to check out earlier due to three sleepless nights. Upon check-out, another polite young man expressed regret for my experience and mentioned that I should have spoken to him for a potential solution (a bit too late, why not before?).

In summary, I would not recommend this hotel, even if you manage to secure a substantial discount. Although the staff is mostly polite, the overall experience resembles a budget bed and breakfast...

We stayed recently for 3 nights. The hotel is an odd set up you have to go up to floor 8 in one lift and use another to get to floor 6 for your room. But the room was very clean, tidy and well presented however alot of bits of paint flaking, wardrobe flaking, mini bar didn't work or keep anything cold whatsoever. After the first night I asked if it was possible to have an extra pillow as we only had one each and I sleep with 2. They told me this wasn't possible so although the bed was very comfortable my neck wasn't as im not used with being so flat. I find it bizarre that a hotel don't provide guests with 2 pillows or at least have spares. What if my pillow was damaged or had another issue that I needed to replace it for? I've never ever been to a hotel where there wasn't either extras in the room or spares at reception.

Breakfast was lovely, but lacking in a "pork" sausage! The options for a cooked breakfast was scrambled eggs, streaky bacon, chicken meatballs?? And turkey sausages?? Not for me sorry, to me sausage is pork 🤣 There were also pan au chocolate and croissants, cold meats and cheeses and fruit. Granola, cereals and toast.

The view on a night from our room '607' was lovely. Personally, I found the noise from the trams very therapeutic and relaxing. We kept our balcony door a small bit open but once closed there was no noise.

We didn't hear a peep from the next door rooms that was a nuisance so they must be well sound proofed.

The shower was lovely and hot. However, when I washed my hair and was in longer then a few minutes the water spread out of the shower boundary and so I had to roll up towels to act as a buffer for the water. Other wise it was fine.

There was a wardrobe, vanity unit with mirror plus full length mirror, coat hooks and plenty storage.

On an evening we'd get back and sorted for bed and go back up to 8th floor and fill up our water bottles and get a biscuit and piece of fruit. There is a bar table facing reception desk, everything on the top is free and everything underneath is taken from your room deposit of £100 Free items consist of use of a coffee machine that provides hot chocolate, the usual espresso, latte, cappuccino and americano. For the brits, they do tea but none of the milk they provide tastes right with tea as its coffee creamer.

Overall we had a lovely stay and would stay back there again if we come back to Amsterdam.

There are alot of things round and about that are within a 10 to 15 minute tram ride away.

The only reason I have lowered some stars to 4 is due to the pillow situation, the flaking paint...

I am compelled to share my extremely disappointing and disheartening experience with Amadi Panorama Hotel in Amsterdam, which I booked through Booking.com. Upon arrival, my travel companions and I were taken aback when the hotel demanded an additional payment of 23.12 Euros, despite Booking.com's guarantee that no extra charges would be incurred. To make matters worse, the hotel staff, particularly a dark-skinned female receptionist, exhibited an unwarranted display of hostility through hateful glances, leaving us feeling utterly perplexed and disrespected. The unexplained extra payment and the receptionist's unfriendly demeanor have significantly marred our stay and tarnished the image of both Booking.com and the Amadi Panorama Hotel. As customers, we relied on Booking.com's commitment to transparent pricing and accurate information. However, the unexpected demand for additional payment upon check-in was not only a breach of trust but also a violation of the assurances provided by Booking.com. Furthermore, the receptionist's hateful glances were both unprofessional and unacceptable. We were shocked by the lack of courtesy and basic respect shown by a member of the hotel's staff. Such behavior has no place in the hospitality industry, where guests should be treated with kindness and fairness regardless of their appearance or background. I implore Booking.com to investigate this matter thoroughly and take immediate action to rectify the situation. The Amadi Panorama Hotel must be held accountable for their deceptive practices and the disrespectful behavior of their staff. Additionally, Booking.com should reevaluate its partnership with the hotel to ensure that other guests are not subjected to similar experiences in the future. It is disheartening to see Booking.com, a platform we trusted, fail to deliver on its promises and allow such negative encounters to occur. As customers, we deserve transparency, professionalism, and a safe and respectful environment during our travels. Regrettably, I cannot recommend Amadi Panorama Hotel or Booking.com based on this distressing experience. Travelers should exercise caution and consider alternative accommodations that prioritize customer satisfaction and uphold their promises.

I stayed for 2 nights with my teenage daughter. I chose the hotel because of the price and not expensive parking. The hotel is located on the top 2 floors of a residential building. You enter the hotel by ringing a bell at the entrance to the building to open the door. After that, you use your room card. The lobby and reception area are very nice, with a great view of a nearby lake. There is free fruit and water for hotel guests. Check-in is quick. I had made a reservation for parking (15€/day), but it turned out to be occupied. The hotel only had 5 parking spaces in the building and someone parked in my reserved space. There is an indoor parking lot about 100m from the hotel and it costs 7.50€/day. Since we were there for the weekend and arrived in the evening, I decided to leave the car on the street, where it is free from 7pm to 9am and on Sundays. The rest of the time it costs 4.04€/hour. The room was spacious, clean and nice, with a great view. There is a kettle for water, Nespresso machine, coffee, tea, beer and carbonated drinks for free. For its price the hotel was very nice, but I have a few comments. The beds were narrow even for me, and I am not tall - 80/200cm. Although the air conditioner worked, but the temperature could not drop below 26°C, and you cannot sleep with the windows open because of the noise from the street (trams pass every 10 minutes) and the mosquitoes from the nearby lake. The refrigerator in the room also did not work properly and the beer and the coke were warm. The staff at the reception are apparently aware of this problem , as they happily replaced my drinks with those from their refrigerator. Next time I would insist on a room not on the top floor, as the noise of the heavy rain on the roof could be heard, as well as the creaking of something metal. The quarter is very nice and quiet, many cafes, shops, supermarkets and restaurants. We tried the Italian restaurant Un Sogno IJburg and everything was amazing. The tram stop is only 100m from hotel and every 10min there is a direct tram to the Central station of Amsterdam just for 17min.
