La Bruschetta — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Good for take out - not the right atmosphere for enjoying to dine in.

The pizza which I had was quite good. Value for the price of 20€ OK but not excellent.

Really disappointing was the lack of attention and empathy from the waiters. No eye-contact, no smiles - just rude quick replies. No question whether I wanted something else, no question whether I liked the food. They made me feel like they don't want me in their place.

Perhaps I am spoiled by the hospitality that I found in Sweden and Denmark recently, or all over the world during my life. Perhaps Amsterdam is a different situation and I must expect to be treated in an industrial versus a human fashion around here.

Perhaps I look like person who is living on a sailboat (which I am) and that does not fit La Bruschetta's code? However I had been treated with respect in every single other harbour, so it can't be purely my fault.

Will not repeat that experience in La Bruschetta but other places...

This place is everything you’d expect from an authentic, good quality, Italian place. The menu is extensive, featuring cold and hot appetizers, pasta options, pizzas, fish and meat dishes , and an array of desserts. We tried sea bass dish with spicy shrimp and pizza, and both were superb. Pizza was certainly the best I’ve had in Amsterdam. Wine selection won’t disappoint either; opt for a glass of Montepulciano, which is a very fair price and serving for the quality you get. Finally, staff are lovely , ready to throw a joke or stop by your table for a spontaneous chat. The place is overlooking water, thus also very pleasant day and evening atmosphere. So we ordered pizzas via Delivaroo. To give the benefit of doubt, perhaps these pizzas are best eaten in the restaurant and not for home delivery, cause frankly speaking pizza was ugly Felt like we were paying a lot of money for a pizza coming from a Kebab place. Prosciutto & Funghi had ham in its instead of Jamon to start with and was pretty much a struggle to eat. Base was too chewy and none of us finished our pizzas. We threw away half of it. Literally negative value for money. Would obviously never order again but please improve your cuisine and don't act like a kebab place while charging the prices of an Italian...
