Bagels & Beans — Restaurant in Amsterdam

This was a really nice place to sit and have a coffee. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. The coffee was a bit bitter for my personal taste, but the hot chocolate was delicious 😋. I have also had a refreshing light in texture red berry smoothie on another occasion that was also nice. A gluten free tart or stroop waffle would have made the experience even better as I was peckish. Although I was unable to get anything small and snackish and gluten free to eat on the day, but I still think its a good place to sit. Inside or out (weather permitting).

A couple of months later... Visited a couple more times and had really good service. Was given an allergen booklet which was super helpful. (Gluten free and vegan options) I tried several gluten free bagels. (Note- these are warmed in an oven where gluten bagels are also cooked). Lovely selection of sweet and savoury. Juices are sooo delicious! Recommend the 'Geen Stress' and the 'Mix' also. Lattes are really good and not bitter at all. Breakfast bagel with cream cheese and jam is a nice way to start the day. They have energy and power booster shots if you need a lift. The location pin is fractionally out, but the building is clear, it is a bright café on the corner. Staff super helpful and speaking Dutch or English is fine. Nice selection of Teas and coffees. They also have a gluten free caramelo bar which is tasty and they were in stock this time! Great for a solo experience or with friends and family. You can sit...

And I quote “it’s like something at work, I get it but I’m not going to buy it. The bagel was dry, it wasn’t soft, but it was whole wheat? So I suppose that’s what you can expect right?… perhaps it needed more toppings, maybe some cheese. Maybe if I got it now I would’ve added a few things from the fridge” - My boyfriend, the person I bought this bagel for.

This was my first purchase from Bagels & Beans. If I’m being open here, that morning I had a little tiff with my boyfriend, I went to the gym and thought I’d grab him a nice / impressive apology breakfast on the way home. I had high hopes for this bagel since it was from a cafe with the title “Bagels & Beans” but I’m only finding out 2 days later that he actually didn’t like it at all 🥹🥹

Unfortunately I probably won’t go back again… the ice coffee wasn’t something to write home about either :( and I’m a pro when it comes to...

I ordered a large cappuccino to go, which came in a medium-sized cup. The lady said that the large is only for latte. I'm a regular costumer at the bagels & beans in my own neighbourhood and I have never heard of that before, from multiple bagels and beans. I also ordered a BLT bagel, which took over 20 minutes. By the time it arrived my coffee was cold. The lettuce on the bagel was a little bit brown on the edges and dry. It didn't taste fresh at all. The bagel also wasnt warm to begin with, which made me question why I waited so long for a cold coffee and bagel. There were 4 people working there around 4 pm, and they stood there chatting there for a good 5 minutes, without working on anything. The service is slow, the food is a hit or miss, and the wait simply isnt worth it. Highly disappointed, won't recommend...
