Wow, this review is more about Holland, but Marinapark holds a special part of it. Location excellent, we brought the car over on the over night Hull to Rotterdam route. Not being able to access our property till 3 we took time out to see Den Haag, Scheveningen, Zandvoort and finally the windmills at Zaanse Schans on route. Brilliant day 1 - Enough time in each place. The Marina Park is spot on the road into Volendam, easy to find. You don't worry about check in as they sent us the room cards in the post so it was just about choosing the right car park as the signs to the first one are obscured by branches. Spacious V07 Comfort property, a bit "sandy" but no worse than home. Right on the marina and over 3 stories, although part of a terrace better than the ones next door which were duplex, one family staying above another. Bedding was a bit cheap and difficult to put on, I imagine recyclable after a couple of uses. Only down side to house was that we were in a mini heat wave which made each floor incredibly hot and being on a Marina, open your doors and windows to let air in and the bug population of Holland turns up. We actually kept the vacuum cleaner in the bedroom to hoover the beds before we went to sleep. But I am guessing that Air Con for 2 weeks out of 52 a year is not worth it ! A really nice property. Volendam is a lovely long street with mainly restaurants and bars, We didn't use any of the restaurants on the Marinapark, we walked the 10 minutes into town most evenings and are some great meals across the front. Over the week we hired electric bikes and rode to Edam, took the public bus from right outside the park to Amsterdam returning very very late, and took the car further north to cross the Ijsselmeer from Den Oever to Zurich (Dutch Version) on the Afsluitdijk a 32km cause way, before dropping down to Lelystad and returning to Volendam side over a 26km Causeway Houtribdijk. A 280km drive, but with often stops at some very interesting places such as Lemmer. This further highlights the perfect location that is Marina Park - We also took the ferry to Marken but left it a little late so literally had time to grab some fish and chips and take the return, we did the waffles demonstration and Clog Painting all within 10 minutes of Marina Park - On Friday the local Football Team played NAC Breda a well supported team in the second tier of Dutch Football the town livened up with good spirited football fans - we checked out two days early due to having to return to the UK but it was nothing to do with Marina Park, We chose to head to Rotterdam for the day dropping the kids at Dunreill, and it seemed a bit pointless to drive 1hr 40mins back north when we had actually done all we planned, so we changed ferries and headed home. I defy anyone wishing to visit Holland and max it to find a...

The location of Roompot Marinapaek Volendam is truly beautiful – peaceful surroundings, charming little houses, and just a short walk to the lovely center of Volendam. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end.
Upon arrival, we were told we couldn’t check in before 4 PM, which is fine, but the actual check-in experience was far from smooth. Right at the parking area, we were greeted by a dirty bag of used bed linen just lying there – a concerning first impression.
Once we finally entered the house, we were shocked by the level of filth. The floor was visibly dirty, there were dog hairs everywhere, trash left around, and cobwebs hanging from the walls – clearly, the house hadn’t been properly cleaned in weeks. There was no bed linen provided despite us paying extra for it, and the overall condition of the house was absolutely unacceptable.
I understand this is not a 5-star hotel, but this level of neglect is beyond reasonable. When I went to the reception to complain, the staff seemed indifferent. I was told that since it was after 4:30 PM, no one could come clean until the next day – and surprise, no one came at all for the remaining five days of our stay.
Only after repeated requests did we finally receive the bed linen we had paid for – and not without passive-aggressive remarks exchanged between the staff in Dutch, assuming we couldn’t understand.
After driving over 1300 kilometers, arriving at a dirty, unprepared house was incredibly frustrating, especially considering they charge an additional mandatory cleaning fee – and market the units as pet-friendly. If you charge for cleaning, at the very least, the place should be clean upon arrival.
I’ve attached photos and videos as proof of the condition we found the property in. I would strongly advise Roompot to reevaluate their cleaning services and guest experience, and I would not recommend this location to others unless serious...
Read moreHotel is all fake advertising and sub-standard.||1. Hotel is not what is pictured in their advertisements. The pictures are of marina townhouses in which you are not allowed to stay. Hotel was not near the water and as far as I know...none of the rooms have marina views (maybe if you lean out your window and look between several buildings). ||2.The overly aggressive property security will make sure you don't visit the town homes or loiter for long on the property outside the hotel.||3. No double beds or king beds. Only single beds that they stick together.||4. Desk closes early. They allow you late check-in, but then will leave a nasty letter the next morning under your door telling you that you did not pay when you arrived and if you don't pay immediately they will kick you out.||5. Breakfast does NOT come with the room and is expensive for such a crappy little restaurant.||6. Hotel is just cheap looking, from outside to inside - cheap looking entrance, front desk area, restaurant, stairs, hallways and rooms. Floor needed a good cleaning too!||||I travel all over the world. I don't expect the Four Seasons when I pay budget rates, but I at least expect some truthful advertising and a descent room. They are obviously concerned that if they posted photos of their hotel no one would stay there so they post photos of the surrounding town homes. Would NEVER stay here again - even if...
