Just across the bridge from the station and 5 minutes from the pedestrian area, this charming small hotel is perfect for a visit to Middelburg.|For a small (9 room) hotel, the breakfast is good with a variety of meat, cheese, sweets, cereal and bread options. The owner will also make eggs to order. The coffee machine makes excellent coffee including cappuccino and other specialty drinks.||The room was comfortable and the shower was good. There isn't a lot of closet space but enough for a few days and plenty of hangers.||The only word of caution is that there is no lift and being an old herrenhuis, the stairs are a bit steep and narrow. Certainly not the worst we've seen (like the canal houses in Amsterdam) but could be an issue for some.||Overall, an excellent value, comfortable room and great customer service.||We will not hesitate to stay here on our next visit...

The hotel doesn't serve evening meals but there are plenty of good restaurants nearby. A good breakfast is served so you won't be hungry.
