Mezelf afgelopen vrijdag op een Plateau Fruits de Mer Royale getrakteerd, echter wat een teleurstelling, voor € 42 kreeg ik een plateau met wat sompige garnalen uit Verwegnistan, wat venusschelpen, enkele scheermessen, wat krukels, een schaar van een midsize krab en TWEE oesters! Aangevuld met wat sausjes, rouille en een salade (eerste keer dat ik die in een plateau fruits de mers aantref) Al met al lag er voor dik € 7.50 inkoop aan etenswaar op het plateau. Op mijn opmerking dat het wel erg karig gesteld was met de oesters, antwoordde de serveerster ad rem dat ik oesters kon bij bestellen. De gérant ook geattendeerd op het magere ensemble, hij zou het aan de chef doorgeven, die liet zich echter plots niet meer zien. Dringend advies om het gerecht direct van de kaart te halen!

Habe mir letzten Freitag ein Plateau Fruits de Mer Royale gegönnt, aber was für eine Enttäuschung, Für 42 € bekam ich eine Platte mit feuchten Verwegnistan-Garnelen, einigen Muscheln, einigen Schwertmuscheln, einigen Kurbeln, einer mittelgroßen Krabbenschere und ZWEI Austern! Ergänzt mit einigen Saucen, Rouille und einem Salat (das erste Mal dass ich es in einem Fruits de Mers-Plateau fand). Auf meinen Kommentar, dass es sehr sparsam mit den Austern sei, antwortete die Kellnerin schnell, dass ich Austern bestellen könne. Auch der Manager machte ich aufmerksam auf das magere Ensemble, er würde es an den Chef weitergeben, der sich jedoch plötzlich nicht mehr zeigte. Dringender Rat, das Gericht umgehend von der Speisekarte zu streichen!

Treated myself to a Plateau Fruits de Mer Royale last Friday, but what a disappointment, for €42 I got a platter of some soggy shrimps from faraway, some clams, some razor clams, some cranks, one mid-sized crab claw and TWO oysters! Supplemented with some sauces, rouille and a salad (the first time I found salad in a fruits de mers plateau). On my comment that it was very economical with the oysters, the waitress answered quickly that I could order more oysters. I also explained the meager ensemble to the manager, he was going to pass it on to the chef, but the chef suddenly didn't show up anymore. Urgent advice to immediately remove the dish from the menu!

Je me suis offert un Plateau Fruits de Mer Royale vendredi dernier, mais quelle déception, pour 42 €, j'ai eu un plateau de crevettes détrempées du Tropique, des palourdes, des couteaux, des manivelles, une pince de crabe de taille moyenne et DEUX huîtres! Complétée de quelques sauces, de rouille et d'une salade (la première fois que je l'ai trouvée sur un plateau de fruits de mer). Sur mon commentaire que c'était très économique avec les huîtres, la serveuse a répondu rapidement que je pouvais commander des huîtres. Le gérant a également J'ai attiré egalement l'attention du gérant au maigre ensemble, il le transmettrait au chef, qui, cependant, ne se montrait plus soudainement. Conseil urgent de retirer immédiatement le plat...

The thing about middleburg is....

Listen. The food was perfect. The trio lunch course was great and the fish and chips are better than anywhere else this side of the North Sea.

But. The whole place is a bit basic. Overly cutesy wall decoration hailing from an over produced made in china retailer doesn’t help. The wine card was complex, the food had dearth... but Jesus Christ.... please add some original flair to the dining area. Or at least take everything out that you bought at an Action on sale.

I’m being harsh. But honesty is the best medicine. Put some of the wine bottles you’ve used on the walls. Add some additional cocktails to the menu. Throw out the faux table tops (or use table linens to hide them).

I know you know what I mean.

I had a delightful experience dining at this restaurant. The food was of exceptional quality, and I was pleased to find that a fresh and tasty small salad was served with every dish. The staff was friendly and made me feel welcomed throughout my visit. The prices were also reasonable for the excellent value provided. However, one point that I would like to mention is the lighting. While the restaurant initially dimmed the lights, it would have been even better if they had also lit the candles on the table.
