Avalon Resort — Hotel in Bay of Islands-Whangaroa Community

I don't even know where to start with this amazing place as there is so much to rave about. |First of all I was a bit hesitant going down a long driveway into the wilderness with my young son, but as we drove down we saw beautiful rivers and wildlife.|When we arrived at reception the manager was so kind, I had made a mistake with my booking and he did everything to rectify my mistake.|He took us up to a villa which looked nice from the outside but wow when we walked in I was absolutely amazed. This place was absolutely beautiful, it has a fully equiped kitchen with beautiful cutlery and crockery, it also had two beautiful and comfortable single beds and a stunning loungeroom with a beautiful bathroom and then a big room with a large bed. Topped off with a beautiful balcony where you could hear and see birds everywhere. The place was immaculate. It made me wish I had booked in longer just for the sake of it. |We went down to the pool, which was stunning with rocks etc in it and a amazing spa but it didnt end there. There was also a toilet, sheltered seating area, pizza oven and bbq. Beautiful. So peaceful. Its just a shame all that beauty is marred by such ugly behaviour of the host. Do not leave ANYTHING behind when you stay you will regret it I do not think you understand the importance of this $ 168 pillow to me. (I have chronic back issues)Your sister in law couldn't even be bothered to drive 10 mins out of her way to drop it off for fear of traffic. all she had to do was keep the car running, get out, leave it on my doorstep and then drive the literal 5 minutes back to the motorway. but she didn't. She was going north. There's barely any afternoon traffic going north. not until at least 4-5 pm. now I have asked for it to be couriered on multiple occasions. Even said I would pay for the courier But for some unknown reason you chose to make a very simple situation complicated. I want the pillow couriered. I want it at my house by Wednesday. I want a receipt of exactly how much you had to pay the post office for the delivery so I know I'm not being taken for a ride. I can verify the amount you tell me with the post office and if it is even slightly different I will have yet more evidence. OR I can make this legal. I have proof of everything. This family-run resort is truly exceptional and we were so fortunate to have discovered it. We stopped for one night after other plans fell through and ended up staying three weeks! A hidden gem just at the edge of town. Off the road, you drop into a beautiful valley of gardens, ponds, trees and birds. We loved the spring-fed swimming pool, the spa, and sauna and having our own private balcony and space in the Water cottage. The place is deliciously quiet - bird song, rustling leaves, soft breezes - and superb for star gazing. We got to see several of the rooms and all were cozy, homey and comfortably equipped with everything you could need for a short or long stay. The owners treated us so incredibly well (an extra mention to Cassie and Ella ;) and we cannot thank them enough for making our experience in the Bay of Islands so wonderful.
