Kerigold Chalets — Hotel in Bay of Islands-Whangaroa Community

Sadly we didn't get to stay at this place, despite our friends having booked this a few months before our stay. Arriving from the UK and exhausted we discovered that he had overbooked our two chalets. Even though we had had a communication from him a few weeks earlier to say that they had not been affected by the storms and we were ok to go there. We were sent to another place where the owner couldn't help us but did say that this had happened several times before. This review is well overdue, as we stayed in this lovely place a number of months ago. Hubby and I loved the peaceful orchard setting, the privacy of having a cottage on its own, and also that everything we needed was in the well laid-out accommodation. It was also great to swim in the pool with its beautifully landscaping. ||The hosts were friendly and hospitable, and right next door is a fantastic bakery where we enjoyed coffee and a couple of delicious meals.||I can highly recommend this place, and if we are ever back in Kerikeri, this is the place we would...

Pleasantly surprised. From the road the chalets are hidden and the front house and yard looked a bit uninviting. But then driving in we were delighted with the cute chalets and lovely gardens.||The chalets are modern, clean and comfortable. Big bathroom with a great shower and plenty of bench space. Nice to have a small kitchenette in our studio. ||The walls are a bit thin and we could hear the neighbour through the wall. ||Good location walking distance to town.
