The Castle Christchurch — Hotel in Christchurch

We got to the Castle just as the New Zealand and the World started to shut down. Leeane and Dale made us feel welcome and safe in their incredibly restored Castle. We even contemplated trying to wait out the crisis in their refuge. Learning about the resurrection of the property after the devastating earthquake gave us confidence that they and we would survive and thrive once the Plague has passed. A special bonus is that Leeane is Maori and teaches the language, so we got some unique insights into the original culture of the Islands. We had a bit of a mix up with our room to start with, but the caretakers did everything possible to sort things out for us. They were super friendly and helpful. The place is amazing with a huge kitchen, comfy lounge and outside area with a pool. The carpet is so lush and soft, you could sleep on it. 😄. It was super clean and stylish, yet not stiff or intimidating. You had coffee/tea making facilities in the kitchen or hallway. Such a shame we couldn't stay and enjoy the breakfast, but had to rush off to the airport at 4.30am. 😏. Highly recommend this stunning B&B. Thank you...
