Bay Palm Motel — Hotel in North Island

Great experience overall.

Reasonably priced. Friendly staff and very accommodating. Helped with late check in and extra amenities.

Facilities are all top notch. 5 stars here alone. Room was fantastic. Clean and tidy, modern and warm.

Special mention to the wonderful cleaning staff who not only did a great job but were happy to provide us with extra linen when asked.

Motel is close to a major mall, stadium and other places of interest in Tauranga and is easy to find and access.

Parking is restricted to 1 vehicle per unit inside the motel. This is outlined upon check in and there are various signs about the carpark that highlight this. If all patrons adhered to this rule there would be ample parking within the confines of the motel for each unit.

Unfortunately while we were out to dinner someone took it upon themselves to park right outside our unit which meant we had to park on the road upon returning. Luckily there is plenty of on road parking.

The car park was full and it was clear that there was more than 1 vehicle per unit, as there were also other vehicles parked on the road.

I'd suggest allocating parking zones to each unit (as there is a clear space outside each for vehicles to park), that way people might be less inclined to occupy your units' space. Perhaps a parking permit to display indicating your room number and identifying your parking space.

Other than that everything else...

The worst experience I have ever had!!!! ||||We were woken in the middle of the night to 3 big, drunk men kicking our door and yelling I'm going to smash up your car. ||They were yelling because they wanted that carpark. ||There was no allocated parking in the motel. ||But they wanted that car park. ||When I opened the door to see what was going on. ||A man stepped into my room yelling he was going to smash my face in. ||my husband was made to shift the car at the time they were still abusing us. ||We had our two children in the room. ||I rang the manager to get help and he came down. ||He was too scared to do anything to the men. ||He woundnt ring the police he wanted them to apologize to us. ||They were never kicked out instead when we said we felt unsafe he said we can leave. ||They said they apologized to them and promised not to do it again ||||So if you enjoy being attacked in the night by very intoxicated angry men then you should stay here! ||||Otherwise I wouldn't...

The place is very accesible from state hiway and few blocks away from Bayfair mall. |We did not expect that a motel could have been that complete. |The check in was very smooth. The guy accompanied us to our room. |The unit has 2 floors. Ground floor has 1 single bed, small receiving area and mini kitchen. |Mini kitchen has cuttleries, kitchen utensils, pans and mini fridge. |The toilet hAs bath tub and complete with toiletries. |Queen size bed is uptairs.|I must commend this has the most generous plug/ socket that we have ever stayed in! I think the entire unit has 5 x 2 plugs. Yehey!! Thats 10 gadgets or appliance at the same time. Lol. ||There is a heater panel as well but electric fan is provided too. ||We are delighted that we were able to use their heated pool After a tiring day from walking around. ||The check out was fast and easy too! ||Will recommend this motel to everyone who does not expect something grand and not fussy. |We are happy to stay here again and again...
