Bayfair Shopping Centre — Local services in North Island

Be aware of the Chii Health and Beauty shop in this complex. No stars for this establishment! My first time there today will be my last. There at 1.15pm for pedicure and manicure...English speaking barrier but we got there in the end...pedicure first, then out of the chair to sit at manicure table. They were so quick putting on one coat then another without leaving time in between for drying, then straight into a gloss or hardening coat not sure what it was. 20 mins later fingernail setting still tacky, so would I like a neck and shoulder massage for $18 while I wait? (nothing like having a girls pamper day so thought why not). Somehow while resting my fingers one rested on the other and smudged the polish, very kindly redone with another coat on the top, another 20 mins holding in front of the fan, still not dry...finally left Chii 2 hours later & 10 steps outside the store reached for car keys from bag & smudged more polish off. Went back to store and told them it shouldn't still be so soft to mark and rub off after all this time and to please remove nail polish from fingernails, which they did with no apology so I left. 6 hours later I look down at my toenail polish, the top has rubbed off from big toe nail and I thought I was so careful not to bump! Removed the polish myself and am feeling very ripped off and disgruntled about my experience with Chii. $68 not well spent and not worth going back to complain due to english barrier. Jay Jays Bayfair horrible service! Racial profiling. On Thursday 12/01/23 4 young kids aged 10-15 all Māori (involved in youth council, good kids) were enjoying their day trying on items and had left the store to go to the food court to get something to eat and they were approached by a security guard telling them to go back to the Jay jays store because the workers assumed they had stolen something and wanted to check their shopping bags. How embarrassing! Why not ask them in the shop before they left the premises!? They were then escorted back to the shop with a vast amount of people staring at them through the mall and they were so embarrassed. The kids willingly gave their bags to be checked and when the workers found nothing they didn’t offer an apology at all! I am so appalled with this behaviour it is unacceptable! Disgusting behaviour from the Jay Jays staff which shows me you do not teach them any values! Thankfully the security guard had apologised to them. My question is why not stop and ask them before they left the store!? Why embarrass them and make them out to be criminals when they didn’t steal anything!? Please teach your workers to be better human beings to avoid this in the future and if they have any doubts, have the decency to go up and ask. The kids are now traumatised and do not want to shop in Jay Jays let alone...

Wow just wow! Spent three hours here today with three teenagers and a baby! Was an awesome day out.. looking at whats hot in fashion, sports, shoes, jewellery, massage, nails, free wifi, groceries, foodcourt ( so much to chose from) mens, ladies, kids wear, a wide range of everything in this place. As we were walking around we were kinda hungry but we noticed alot of people with (kfc) so we located it in the far corner across from subway and decided to dine in.. was super efficient with food service but couldve done with a clean up as customers left from eating in.. as tables were left unsanitized (had to clean our own table and chairs) the floors needed a major sweep and there was rubbish left on the window bench as you approached the court. The rubbish bins needed emptying as they were filled to the top. We really liked the beepers given to notify us our food was ready 👍 all KFC's shpuld have these available wether your dining in or waiting for an order instore. It was the first kfc we have had that we ate piping hot.. very nice. And to my amazement which i thought had been extinct was they had the towelettes.. i was very excited to see these!
