Hawera Central Motor Lodge — Hotel in North Island

Awoken at 1:30am by teenagers sitting on the chairs outside our room talking and yelling. Asked them to move on so that we could get back to sleep. They ignored us. Asked again from our unit door. They ignored us. Called the manager on the phone who was on site. Explained what was happening. The manager said there were no teens staying there and expressed concern for the security of 3 motorbikes in the carpark owned by others. The manager would not address the teens and would not call the police so we did. The police said they'd attend but didn't know when resources would be available. Towards the end of our call to the police the teens left. We were distressed by the events and appalled that the site manager would not attend to paying guest concerns on their own property. Knowing we wouldn't get back to sleep, we drove back to Hamilton at 2:30am. Thoroughly appalled with the lack of care this site manager applied to our situation. Horrible end to our wedding anniversary celebration. Long time customers that will never return...

We stayed a couple of nights here before Xmas, per my many reviews 3 things we mainly look for in accommodation, location, cleanliness, service.||This Motel was centrally located easy walking distance to several good eating options and places to have a drink (though outdoor seating in Hawera hard to find)||Places was spotlessly clean we passed this onto the owner at checkout who was so pleased he took us on a wee tour out back where the store room/cleaning supplies were stowed and no surprises the place was neat as a pin. He put much of the praise on his Manager I think Carolyne was her name.||Not with standing the guided tour the owner advised us of must visit places in the area apparently among them an Elvis Museum. ||We left and travelled to New Plymouth on arrival realised we had left a Kindle behind rung the Motel got Carolyne explained the situation, they searched the room found the Kindle and couriered it to us.||I would not hesitate to highly...
