Stayed here with my mum & my fiancé in room 6. Rubbish bin in unit was tiny, same with the one in the bathroom, jug that leaks, bathroom door doesn’t even close properly. only thing going for this Motel is the location. Even the communal kitchen was closed for fixing, so was forced to have only microwave meals in the unit due to no stovetop, oven or hotplate in the unit. Also, no kitchen sinks in the unit so couldn't even do dishes which is pretty yuck. Not only that but the ground outside unit 7 feels like it's gonna collapse any minute. Not safe if you ask me!.. Absolute waste of money, for what we got. Do better Mayfair Court Motel!!! Cleaners were also completely useless, told them we needed fresh linen one morning, and they just dumped fresh linen in our unit as if they expected us to the work, until mentioning to them that we were gonna pop out for a bit. One of the cleaners is absolutely clueless when asking if any of the other units have a stovetop in them. The cleaner had zero knowledge. Went home a day early as we had all had enough.
Apparently the communal kitchen has been closed since last year!!! Might wanna update that on your website, or better yet...GET ROUND TO FIXING. This is absolutely unacceptable. No apology or anything whatsoever to my mother which I find disgusting.
i DO NOT recommend this...
Read moreThis motel has been around for quite a number of years and has begun to show its age. However, a new owner has recently taken over and it looks like things will be on the up in the not too distant future. The main positive I have to mention is that the bed and pillows were very comfortable. That counts for a lot in my book. The bathroom was quite small and the shower box felt cramped. Additionally the ergonomics were a bit of a problem. The "wardrobe" for your clothes was immediately adjacent to the cooking area and you had to manipulate the curtains carefully to keep out the brightness of the security lighting immediately outside the windows. There is a beautifully maintained swimming pool available for customers. However, the area surrounding the pool was a let down. The grass was in urgent need of mowing and edges needed trimming. Additionally the front garden and grassed area was poorly maintained and does not create a good first impression when driving in. A security camera has been installed so you can leave your car parked safely knowing that all will be well. We had a couple of otherwise comfortable nights here but I look forward to seeing how the programme of improvements...
Read moreLike other comments on here, the rooms are very dated. Even with a few changes of owner over the years it's obvious nothing has been invested in updating these rooms.
Couch in room very old and stained.
Hot water only warm.
Some lights not working.
Kitchen and bathroom still have decor and fittings from probably 30 years ago.
Carpet is very old and worn.
Pool advertised on website has been closed since last Winter and worker tells me it's going to be closed permanently. That's another sign that the owners don't want to spend any money on actually improving the property.
Cold water comes out cloudy so if you want a drink you need to let it settle or probably should boil it first.
This could be a really good motel property if owners actually saw it as an investment and not just a quick money grab.
Compare this to the reviews and photos of the Clifton Court motel elsewhere in town where the owners obviously cared about their property. If I go back to Tokoroa I'd look elsewhere first before going back to the Mayfair.
Owners - if you read this, please take all these comments on board and develop the place to match what...
