Nexus Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in North Island

Usual procedure scan, mask, present pass , (no one at the door scanned and went in) my daughter was waiting inside the restaurant area we proceeded to the counter to order lunch, a chap come out and asked for my pass I presented it,then he insisted my daughter presents her pass and she says" I have already done so",but he was adamant she had not, once he saw her name he remembers and carries on (no apologie, not a good start) We then proceeded to order lunch several requests later we were able to order (It would have been nice if it was mentioned beforehand what was available on the menu) We ordered the fish tacos and mince on nachos accompanied by herbal tea for two. We didn't finish the fish tacos rather bland tasting salad even with the chilly sauce that accompanied the meal,we flavoured it with mince etc 👎 Mince was okay and...

Spacious area, very tidy and clean. Menu was disappointing because there were 3 options that weren't available. Had the fish tacos, these were very bland even with the spicy sauce. Beef nachos were nice, Mince had a lot of flavor. Good size tea pots for herbal tea.

My Vaccine pass was checked upon arrival, I sat and waited for my Mum. When she arrived, we went to the counter to order food and then the guy asked me for my pass again. I said I showed you but he said he's the only one that checks them and he didn't check mine so insisted. I showed him and then he said he remembered my name and that he did check it.

I haven't been here for a while and wanted to check it out because people have spoken about the new owners and the food. Wasn't the best experience but I will return to see if my thoughts...

Really disappointed. Ordered big breaky with hollandaise. Poached eggs were solid as a rock. Hollandaise was cold , not heated at all. Mushrooms were in what WAS a flower based sauce but was attempted to reheat and was a lumpy dry cold mush. Eggs covered in balsamic vinegar! Tomatoes were whole, not fried just cold and raw .
