I do not care if there’s a tiny bathroom. I do not care if there’s a little bit that looks worn. I want to stay here again and again. We will reminisce about this stay for weeks to come. We were in unit 1–facing the beach and with its own private drive. It was heaven. We slept listening to the waves, we cooked our own breakfasts in the cute little kitchen, we walked across to the picnic tables overlooking the ocean and shared a bottle of wine, and we truly believe we spent two nights at the best beach on earth. There’s free boogie boards, laundry facilities (in unit one they are in-house), a full sized fridge, and comfy beds. For a family of three, our unit and our experience was just perfect.

The motel had wonderful hosts. The unit was warm and clean. The beds were comfortable. I had all the kitchen equipment I could possibly need. There's a nice picnic area with seats just across the road near the beach. There's an outdoor shower to wash the sand off and boogie boards to borrow. Really happy with my stay here.

This is the most amazing motel and location. Besides being right on the beach, we could hear the Kiwis calling as the sun went down. In the morning we were awoken by a symphony of bird songs. The room was very clean and beds where so comfortable. Kelly the owner was very friendly and helpful. Thanks again Kelly.

Firstly, a great location and outlook - only the sound of the waves...||||Great to have a generous-sized bathroom but at the expense of space in the rest of the unit. Fortunately I am not in a wheelchair as I would have trouble getting down the side of the double bed (which is also very high - I am average height for a man but my feet could not reach the floor). ||||However the bathroom lacks the necessary safety rails in both the shower and toilet (see photos) and T felt unsafe - needs rails on the two walls of the shower and a fold-out rail between the toilet and shower. Best planned before lining done in case extra fixing dwangs required but can be retrofitted... important that these are the correct height (see NZ Standard 4121:2001||||More power outlets are needed and best if these...

I just can’t relate to a few of the very old poor reviews of this place. This is very basic accommodation done very well indeed. It’s spotlessly clean, very well maintained and looks to be recently refurbished and decorated. The pictures don’t do this place justice. It’s comfortable and affordable and cross the very quite road and your on one of the best beaches in the world. ||I’d happily spend a week here, it’s party trick is it actually has everything you need for a few days by the sea. We stayed as part of our tour of NZ and this place exceeded expectations. Simply furnished but still with a small kitchen tv, comfortable bed washing line and arm chairs and a simple check in, I’m all in. It exceeded expectations and you can park right outside, a...

Booked a room for 4 people...no hot water...only a duvet cover on double bed, no blanket...no spares (lucky it was very warm)...no in-room phone...no milk...no air con as the windows didn't open...my kids left their pillows behind and on returning, the hotelier claimed only one was found and there was no other! So after some convincing (alot of convincing)that we had definitely left it there, she went to check the room and found it with their pillow case over ours. Insincere apology...however... Great location...directly across from the beautiful beach with a little seating area. Basic amenities were missing...but the fact that we had argue for our possessions back was unbelievable...as it became a matter of principles more than...
