I really wanted to love this place. The villas look really cute and the property is so pretty. It's in an excellent location, you are 1 minute walk from the 4 square, dairy and the restaurants.||Yes the villas are old but they have new bedding and furniture - our bed was comfortable enough. The bathroom was old but clean. We had a really lovely welcome at reception but that's probably where it stopped for me.||We arrived and had a villa down the back. We could see there are villas that look out onto the water so I tried to call reception and see if any were vacant. But the phone didn't work. After calling on my mobile I was told that they were mostly privately owned so we couldn't stay in them which is fair enough I guess.||||There was one of these owners in the villa opposite us , and older lady who just stood on her verandah and stared at us the whole time.||||The milk provided was off and when I went down to reception around 5pm they had closed despite it supposed to be open to 8pm. I called the number on the door and the man answered and sounded like he was in the pub and confused about why I was calling. So I called the second number on the door and the receptionist said she would come down. So I waited and waited, and eventually she was knocking on our door with new supplies. But she had to drive from her house to help us? Apparently the man I spoke to was the resort owner and he was supposed to be covering her shift. I don't know - it was all a bit faulty towers.||||For the price (reasonably expensive) I was expecting better service. I would definitely stay in Tairua again...
Read moreIt is a lovely motel in a great location, some of the villas are looking to the water, it is green and surrounded by nice cafes. We stayed here previously, every time it was nice and quite at night. The villas itself very clean and tidy, kitchen is spotless and air conditioning is recently updated, so great in summer hot day! Why such a low rating from me because we have paid $400 a night. It’s ridiculous considering that the bed is uncomfortable, only one type of pillow provided and it’s like a brick, the shower probably same age as me ( but all very clean). All the furniture is as cheap as you can get, blinds are due to a good wash. The internet is working kinda and no sky sport. Important: check your smoke alarms, in our room ( number 11) is in the spot where it makes no sense ( I work in the industry). I understand it’s a season and greenstone concerts, long weekend and this is your chance to make money. But as a customer I would like to be respected, charging this amount has nothing to do with respect. Many years of traveling and working in the hospitality previously, you would still get away with it with a little bit of effort like leaving a nice fresh flowers on the room with bottle of wine and some fruits or do something special like bring fresh Coffe in the morning. Anyway, it’s my...
Read moreSuch a horrible experience in my life.. Not even worth 1 star for this low quality serviced motel.
Booked with Agoda app, 4 Nights for long weekend trip. Once I checked in and get into the room, there were 3 giant mosquitos and 1 spider. I made a booking with agoda, the room called 'Seaview King suite'. I realized they provided was totally different room. Smaller room size, No seaview, No sink for dishwash.. totally different with the photos. Claimed to the manager next day. Admitted they provided different room called 'Habour apartment' NO APOLOGIES, and saying.. Two seaview King suite rooms were damaged by cyclone gabrielle and all other rooms are fully booked. Asked me to stay 1 more day and will change the room. (Please learn to say sorry when you make mistake or provide misleading info. It is common sense) Also saying.. it is long weekend and you will not find any other place to stay. (Threat...?? Haha..) No refunded, but decided to cancel the trip and back to my home. Totally ruined my trip.
Claimed to Agoda and they do nothing. They do not try to solve the issue but saying same thing..'please contact reception / pacific villa...
