We stayed in the 2 bed motel rooms for a few nights in. I can't fault it. Staff were friendly. It was clean and tidy with everything 3 adults and a 3 yr old needed.
Great selection of complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate, even supplied little pods of milk. Microwave is a combo grill/ oven /microwave machine..but once you figured it out it was easy. Cafe, dairy, takeaways and beach all within easy walking distance too.
If travelling with toddlers: The wooden stairs are fairly steep, so I feel like its a bit obvious to say make sure you watch you toddler climbing up and down them.. but worth a note. Playground is a little walk away over by the campsites, not within viewing distance of the unit.
The bathroom is very spacious and the shower had impressive water pressure! (like a water blaster if you are not used to it) Soap and shampoo/conditioner, hairdryer were supplied.
The laundry room was next to our unit- but we didn't hear anything (though we were out all day and just back to sleep). There were also washing lines at the back of the unit you could use and pegs supplied. The units are near to the road/ path other campers had to use to get to the rest of the campsite, but again no obvious noise.
House keeping were prompt and lovely ladies too. There was a housekeeping form you filled in and you could ask for new towels everyday if you wanted , or let them know if you needed more complimentary things like soap etc. They don't make beds, but that was totally fine.
Hot pool: We made a special effort to visit the hot water pool onsite one night too (open 5pm-9pm). Nothing fancy, just a small outdoor pool filled with lovely hot water. Was about 730pm.. just us in there , and the night was clear and not too crisp.. so was nice. (toddler liked the coloured lights in the pool, but was also had glowsticks for her, to make her night swim a bit more special)
As I said I can't fault this place. And every staff member I talked to were polite and helpful. I should note - It is dry accom ( so no alcohol etc allowed on site), but not a problem for us, and there is a pub/bar not too far away if you do need a nightcap! I thought it was a really affordable accomodation option for the 4 of us. Overall would stay again, and would recommend. Thank you for...
Read moreWe are so pleased to have discovered this hidden GEM holiday park in Papamoa, just 2 mins walk to the beach! The rooms and facilities are clean and well maintained. There is a lifeguard patrol area at the beach if you want to body board at high tide, and there’s the fun of picking shellfish at low tide. We stayed in a cabin (sleeps up to 8) and it had a toilet and vanity that made a whole world of difference for a family with kids! And the hot tub with salt water at 39deg is bliss in the evening and after going to sea. There is a mini golf course, on site park cafe, giant chess, beach volleyball, ping pong and games room, cinema (yes cinema!!). Our teen loved it and the cabin was spacious especially since there were only 4 of us. The prices were very reasonable and we were very lucky to have secured our stay in peak season. The staff are all lovely and helpful. The best part is the family friendly environment - NO ALCOHOL, NO SMOKING, NO VAPING which we felt created a really positive and safe place. Food and shopping is just down the road, and a 15min drive takes you to the mountains with even more to do. Pap House just next door had excellent steak, pizza and pub fare - we went twice - it was that good! Also an awesome Sunday Lions market every fortnight where locals sell their wares. There is no boredom here - so much for everyone to do! We loved our stay and will definitely be coming back, thank you so much for the awesome...
Read moreThe unit interor was modern & very comfortable for our use. The shower looked impessive but the lack of water preasure was dissapointing. The service was Okay however I booked the 2 room 4 bed unit for 10 day for some out of town tradesmen to use while the wrked on my house. Unit was advertiesd as serviced daily, this was only partially serviced towels replaced daily if you put them out .rooms were not made up as expecte. I came in for the last 2 nights & was charged an extra $22 per nite, they did not supply me with any new towels. The property has a no smoking or vaping policy which I and my tradies expected and respected however when the tradies arrived they were informed there was also a non alchol policy - this was not disclosed on the property description. Had this been disclosed at the time of booking I could have made alternative arrangements. As a practising Christian myself I believe full disclosure (honesty up front) is always...
