Pap House Restaurant & Bar Papamoa — Restaurant in Bay of Plenty

I entered the premises at 1.35pm. Sitting here while the waitress ignores me, 10 minutes later having walked in and out serving one table a couple of times. It was not busy. I'd say it will end up with further issues, perhaps a reason why they lost their licence. Won't come back, and only live just down road.

UPDATE: Please do not be fooled by the essential gas lighting of the "Licenced Owner". I sat down for around 10 minutes. The key points: Pap house was not busy whatsoever as the convenient reply would suggest The staff member that came out was NOT the same staff member that ignored me twice. No, "hello", or "ill just be a second", etc I spoke to a gentleman after the female left to return twice without acknowledging me and advised exactly what I have noted in this review. I was not rude, rather advised that had happened, and the young gentleman gave a nervous giddy laugh and replied with nothing that made me feel welcome. I said I am leaving a one star review.

What we will note in the angry response, is the licencee seems to be frustrated and trying to create a story that is only half correct. The fact, I was there, had a dog, and left. The 10 minutes part, lets say two visits in and out back inside by the waitress and I might as well have not been there, when the place had all of one small group within metres of me, and one group of two ladies to the right side of me, felt about 10 minutes (lets compromise on 7 minutes?), is accurate. The busy part and me being rude (clearly an anger issue exists just not with me), is not.

And of course, why would I return? I think I was fairly clear that I would not. I also don't feel you speak for the rest of the local business owners. This is not a trend with me, if the other less favourable reviews are checked, it might be noted this is not the first instance.

I suggest a little grace wouldn't go astray with your reply and applying half truths to suit what you think appeals to a narrative. If the reply was more truthful, recognising someone's experience, it wouldn't leave clients with more of a poor taste in their mouths. We didn't get that far with your reply resembling my experience...

I recently had the pleasure of dining and having a few drinks and a party at Pap House. The locals pub well known for its great food and service. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by Bobby, the owner, who was eager to ensure that my dining experience was enjoyable.

The restaurant itself was cozy and inviting, with a relaxed family atmosphere that made me feel right at home. And the food...oh, the food! I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the dishes served at Pap House. Every bite was bursting with flavor, and it was clear that a lot of care had gone into the preparation of each dish.

But what really stood out to me was the level of service provided by Bobby and his team. They were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure that my every need and everyone with me was met. Whether it was offering recommendations from the menu or checking in to see how my meal was, the staff at Pap House truly made me feel like a valued customer. I have been back several different times and the level of service is maintained at all times.

If I’m the first order you take at the table I don’t expect you to bring my food out last. We went out for my dad’s birthday dinner, I placed my order first, a carbonara pasta and a burger. My dad then ordered a platter and all this extra food. All his food come out back to back and it seems like they had forgotten my order to begin with. We then asked about it and they said it was coming. It came out about 10-15 minutes after he said it was coming. It was runny and I could tell it was rushed. Wasn’t happy at all and I’m sure it showed on my face. Everything else tasted wonderful which was a shame. Next time, just say you forgot my order instead of rushing to make it because I was one very upset customer. Wont be ordering the pasta again but Simone’s burger was great and the gentlemen serving...
