Hi, I wanted to talk to the boss lady about our visit to your cafe 26/8/22. You need to sort your communication out with your staff. First I asked for a cup of hot water, it turns up in a jug. Then I ordered 2 slices of bread and butter, the young lady asked If we wanted it toasted I said no thank you, just bread and butter.  No we didn't want it toasted at all. We just wanted bread and butter. It took a long time for this to arrive, I had to ask for it. Then after a long wait you served us toasted bread and butter, then when Marlene said she couldn't eat it as it wasn't what we ordered, you return with toasted bread, still not what she wanted. Then finally you bring bread with out the butter, finally you got this right. The reason we asked for bread and butter is Marlene wanted a sandwich. We paid $5.00 for 2 slices of bread and butter. To top this off the male making the coffee was rude and would not let me speak to the lady owner. He also laughed when a customer commented and said thanks for the entertainment. Had these customers known what bad service we received, I don't think they would have said a word. We have never received this kind of service from other cafes/restaurants in town. We go to a lot of cafes/restaurants around town every week. We can spend upto $100.00 a time.

I'm happy to give a bad  Google review like I told the man who just laughed at me. I have given 5 star feed back 3 years ago. A very...

This was really odd. The previous times I have been there it has been great. This time...terrible. The food was ok but the service just absolutely abysmal. They are licensed but not serving alcohol...a non holiday Friday. I assumed it was because the manager who held the liquor licences was having a day off..that's fine no problem. We went to eat...not drink. After waiting for nearly an hour the food arrived...but then it was a hunt for clean forks as they had run out. In the end I went round a few vacant tables and sourced some myself ...What???. It wasn't overly busy and it seemed like plenty of staff but no tables being cleared. When our food finally arrived in dribs and drab it was the chef who delivered it. The young waiting staff didn't seem to be doing a whole lot. I would say that the owners or managers, with Waitangi Day falling on a Thusday, may have taken advantage of that and had a (probably well deserved) break...a long weekend. If that's the case, I can tell you that your staff aren't up to running the place without someone in charge. They seemed absolutely directionless. I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt and give it another go but a repeat performance and I won't be bothering again. The food doesn't seem to taste as good when the...

I ordered the cheese scone and at first they delivered the date scone which was quickly rectified to a cheese scone which at first glance was looking more like a bread. I had to touch it and it had the bread consistency and when I cut it open, it most definitely was bread looking. And to my disappointment, it also tasted like bread. Why do you have to screw around with the classic cheese scone? I was looking forward to it and was really disappointed with what I got. My husband ordered the classic breakfast and he offered me the mushroom since he knows I love mushroom. I got the shock of my life when I tasted the big chunk of mushroom that I had, it was sour. Most definitely just ruin it for the weekend brunch experience. I don’t think I want to come back for breakfast or brunch. For coffee, for sure. Despite the friendly service, it didn’t make up for the disappointing food. What a shame, we had high hopes due to the high Google ratings. Please don’t try and screw up the classic dishes. They’re still around this long...

Always a warm welcome. Cooperage is super clean and tidy. Cabinet food is plenty and arranged beautifully. A varied selection is on offer on the menu. I ordered from here. Owners work their cafe and they and all staff are fantastic. They listen, are very respectful, communicate well, and remain calm even with a cafe full of people. Service was quick. I ordered hot cakes with bacon, banana, maple syrup, and whipped cream. Best hot cakes ever and at a very reasonable price. The Americano was spot on! This cafe runs like a well-oiled machine and has a positive, warm vibe.

Food is better than average (I wouldn't say great but on the whole good) and the staff are very nice. On the other hand the service from order to table is very, very slow. Another reason for the 3 stars is the state of the high chairs. The one that we had, had food hidden away on the folds and as you can see from the picture the straps are in an awful state. And as anyone that has, or has had, kids will know there is a better than average chance that the first thing a child will do when being strapped into something is to try and eat the straps.
