Whilst the hotel staff were friendly and accommodating, and the hotel from first impressions is modern and beautifully appointed, there are areas of concern. Hallway carpets are a trip hazard. Our room 228 on the second floor was extremely large and well appointed, yet lacking and actually quite unsafe if you are unsteady on your feet. Whilst the veneer flooring in the bedroom and lounge areas is attractive, and the marble floor tiles in the bathroom elegant, both surfaces are EXTREMELY slippery underfoot and I can see a very high risk of injury should someone fall onto these hard surfaces. Rugs need a shampoo. Our room was very, VERY large, with two balconies (balcony decking was uneven). We had floor to ceiling windows on two walls and electric window blinds to cover (or not cover as the case was) these - there were no curtains atall in the room. Some of the plastering at ground level was unfinished. Unfortunately, two of the large windows weren't covered completely by the blinds. We lay in bed all night watching the traffic go past as the blinds stopped within about 30cm of closed. The view also overlooked a lumber yard which left us feeling 'watched' in our room so privacy is a massive issue for this room and needs attention. There was a lovely chaise lounge in the sitting area which had a few suspicious stains on it. We enjoy watching a movie from our bed at home, unfortunately the TV is mounted at right angles to the bed on a side wall and the mounting bracket does not rotate. Bathroom, it's massive with a large bathtub, separate large shower with two shower heads, large vanity with single basin, toilet, mirror with surround lighting and deluxe toiletries available by pump bottles to include hand and body wash, shampoo, separate conditioner and body lotion. The bathroom does not have any heating source and does get cool if the door is kept closed. A very small bathmat is provided however the floor and the shower are both incredibly slippery. Where the power outlet sits against the wallboard in the bathroom, the hole is cut too large and there is a small gap... little finishing touches that aren't quite right, but do require attention to lift this hotel into the next level of luxury. Coffee and tea making facilities are in the room along with long life milk in the bar fridge. We requested some fat free milk but when this was delivered to our room, it was regular whole milk. We went down to the Tiger Restaurant to exchange and was told they don't have skim/trim milk. This was the same at breakfast, no trim/skim milk. We ate dinner in the Tiger Restaurant. The wait staff and chefs are very friendly and accommodating. The highlight of my stay was the delicious Korean Fried Cauliflower. A decent portion for $22- and was absolutely SUPERB! The chicken main I had was less impressive as was the chef's platter - though the flavours were great (especially the sauces), the proteins were most certainly cheaper cuts which was disappointing. We had a side order of slaw, it was delicious also. Overall, the chefs did a great job making the most of what they had been supplied with. Breakfast, we opted for the Continental Breakfast buffet. A few options available, standard fayre, nothing fancy. I had to ask three times for gluten free toast. The buffet food was luke warm even though they were presented in bain maries. Would we stay here again? Yes. The hotel is modern, staff are friendly. We would NOT stay in this room again, I should not feel 'watched' in my room and also am very concerned about the slippery floors. Beds are very comfortable and linens are all fresh and of high quality, towels could be a little more luxurious to meet the rest of the hotel standards, but are adequate. Slippers and bathrobes are available. As far as the Tiger Restaurant goes, we hope this review makes it to the requisitions team so quality of cuts of meat improves. Should we be served the same mains again, I would likely return mine as the standard isn't quite as expected in this higher end facility. Nice hotel with potential ...

THIS HOTEL WAS HORRIBLE! I was here for 4 nights for work. When I arrived I was sent to a room that had a COCKROACH in it, went to front desk to ask for a new room and was sent to a room that an electrician was working on - it had no power at all. Went back down to complain again and was sent to a 3rd room. The 3rd room was fine other than the fact the meditation room was right outside our room. (The windows are not tinted at all I had guest waving at me all hours of the day through my room window) On my last night there was a 50th birthday on in the conference room below my room. Decided to get room service that night as I was tired and we had to drive to Wellington the next morning so wanted to get an early night. When the room service arrived everything was fine until I BIT INTO RAW CHICKEN !!!! HOW DISGUSTING 🤮 Went down to complain cause that is foul, when I was down at reception I asked about the music coming from the 50th party and they said it will be going on until 10.30-11.30pm, I was annoyed but it’s what ever they asked if we wanted to change rooms I stated that we did not want to move rooms as we had already moved rooms 3 other times and we were tired of doing that. Anyway I go back to the room we were in and tried to finish some work calls ect and get some res before a long drive back to Wellington. At about 9pm the glasses in our room were rattling and the walls and floor were vibrating from the music it was crazy. We went back down to complain and as we did so did 2 of our neighbours we had told them about our issues with the other rooms from our first day. Anyway we got sent to a room on level 3 and were excited to get some sleep as we went to bed all we could hear was yelling and people talking I look outside our window and we’re above the hot tub rooms everyone was out there talking laughing ect it was 12am ! I yelled out the window shush nothing happened ended up falling asleep and woke up in the morning to leave the hotel and complain to front desk it was not a good stay (AND WE WERE FED RAW CHICKEN my work colleague was up at night sick because of this I tried to get her water from the fridge to help her but the water jugs in the fridge has mould all over the silicon EWW) they didn’t seam to care at the time and got us to write down our number. To add on the walls are like paper you can hear any and everything I wouldn’t call this place deluxe at all. Moral of the story FIND A DIFFERENT HOTEL THIS PLACE IS NOT THE ONE !

It’s like a fake Gucci bag. It looks good to start with, but when you get closer you notice all the details that makes it fake. The lobby and entrance are cool, but as you head to the elevators they have a delightful squeaky LED screen floor. It gives ‘you tried’. The room looks fantastic upon first glance, but then it’s all downhill. The blinds don’t even hit the floor and have huge gaps that’ll make you wake up with the sun. The bed is really comfortable but if you want your phone nearby you’re out of luck since the sockets don’t even cater to NZ plugs. Pack a travel adapter for this hotel! The shower actually has water pressure, but it’s let down by having no door, and no where to put any of your stuff except the floor… which is dirty. 😬 Want to hang your towel out after a shower? Too bad, there’s space for this, except the hand towel rail which is about to fall off the wall. Honestly, there’s so many issues with the workmanship in the rooms. From crooked TVs, to sinking floors, to mismatch skirtings… it’s like they got a bunch of influencer DIYers to renovate the place. Service was awesome, but when I checked out they didn’t even bother asking how my stay was. I think they know and they’re sick of the answer. Fair. 😂

Soho is certainly a beautiful hotel, but my experience left me feeling mixed. The check-in and check-out processes were fantastic—smooth and efficient—and the staff were genuinely lovely, making us feel welcomed.||We were informed about complimentary parking in the basement (usually $25 NZ), yet upon arrival, we found it flooded due to the rain. Accessing our rooms via the elevator was somewhat confusing; while we could go from the basement to our rooms, getting back from our rooms to the basement required a trek around the side of the hotel to reach the main entrance. The side entrance looked sad and scary. ||In the room, I noticed the bathroom only had a very small bin, To give you a picture of how big - just big enough for about three toilet rolls. A medium-sized bin would have been much more suitable. Upon arrival, we were told we did receive an upgrade which I was really please about, but it didn’t really feel like it. I can only imagine how the original room must have been.||The room had a coffee machine and a kettle, which was nice, but I was surprised there was only one hot chocolate packet. The coffee machine unfortunately wasn't working, although the kettle was fine. However, there were no small packs of milk in the fridge or complimentary water bottles, so we had to stick to black coffee, and that single hot chocolate was left unused.||While trying to sleep, the bed proved to be uncomfortable—it kept splitting in half, and the mattress sunk in the middle. I attempted to call the front desk for assistance, but unfortunately, none of my calls were answered.||Since we were only staying for one night and had to rush in the morning, I didn’t take the time to complain, and honestly, I hadn’t planned on leaving a review until I received a prompt for one.||Despite these issues, I appreciate that the hotel provided the shelter we needed. It truly is a beautiful space with a lot of potential! I am grateful for everything but I wish I could have left a...
