I'm not one for reviews and I absolutely really love this place, it became my go to especially since it was right around the corner and their food legitimately taste great.. but when I finished work and stopped in to score some lunch there was a pigeon sitting on the edge of the food trays and when he came out he tried to get the bird away from the food and it ended up going into the cooked food, crawled over the somosas, chicken and chips then ran away and dipped its feet and wings in the curries and made a mess on its way out. Immediately walked straight out the door no words, walked down the street a little more to see if I have an appetite (which I did end up losing) then came back past the shop slowly to see all the same food there with him wiping up the birds mess. Continue on back to my car up the road wait a moment then drive on pass it again to double check and no ones there but all the food is the same and still there.. Very disappointed to lose such a good food place that I loved to such negligence, who knows how many times I've gone here and it's happened and I've ended up eating contaminated food. If they can ignore a literal pigeon crawling through their food who knows what other sorts of health and hygiene they ignore.
I witnessed this around 2:50pm 24/03/2025 if someone wants to gander at their camera footage for...
Read moreThe first few times I went: I loved the food but the last three times, I got food poisoning. My daughter as well. (We both wree throwing up for days on end and had a sore stomach for days until we got medicine for it.) The fries that we got every time we got food poisoned always had a few black or green areas and the chicken was horrid. It was overly salted and dry. Plus, the lack of care they put into this restaurant is ridiculous. The lady that served us was rude and uncaring. Their paper boxes were never built properly and either food would fall out or due to the thinness of the box: the sauce would leak all over. If you do eat here, avoid the...
Read moreGreat Sri Lankan/Indian food at very reasonable prices.
We tourists from Pt Chevalier were tempted to explore by the Taste of Puketapapa festival. The throng of local people inside told us that the food would be good.
The Sri Lankan chef welcomed us, and we chose Biryani: - chicken rice and spices cooked together - delicious, and "Mixed vegetables" a really tasty curry. Combined together the combination was terrific.
We didn't have room for the highly reccomended somosas and other items so we will be calling in again for lunch or dinner on our way to or from...
