Super impressed. Great customer service from the friendly owner operators. I have difficulty walking so really appreciated being offered a site near the facilities and being asked if l was ok with stairs. It was SO refreshing not to have to ask or explain why. Thanks Gordon. Also given a recommendation for a great local restaurant and a discount voucher to use there. There's lots of established landscaping and the sites point in different directions so feel private. It's obvious that a lot of care and attention to detail has gone into this campground. Good kitchen facilities and some equipment provided too. Lots of space to cook, clean and eat and the plants and flowers add a nice homely touch. The bathrooms were great and, thanks to the dehumidifier were warm and dry. The family bathroom is easily the most well thought out l have encountered and includes a half bath and enough room for parents and kids to manoeuvre easily. Great laundry area with tubs, ironing boards and a comfy couch. Profits from the washing machines go to breast cancer research too, which is fantastic and not something I've seen elsewhere. There were lots of other facilities that l didn't use but that looked great, some of the ride ons for hire looked like fun as did the jumping thing in the children's playground. All the facilities l saw were spotless every time l went to use them despite the campsite being about half full....
Read moreOf all the holiday parks we stayed in during our motorhome tour of NZ, Timaru Top 10 has to be one of the best.
Some holiday parks which we had been to were so bereft of greeneries that it felt more like a "carpark". But the trees and plants here attracted song birds which made the environment so much more pleasing. Our powered site was even sheltered on one side by tall hedges which offered us a bit more privacy.
It's also clear that the dedicated people managing this place worked hard to keep it clean. The kitchen, TV room, laundry room and the showers, everywhere we looked had been dusted and wiped.
The laundry room was especially impressive. Usually it's a spartan room with some tired machines. But the washers and dryers looked new at Timaru. And the thoughtful team had put in chairs and sofas for the comfort of those waiting for their laundry. Moreover I noticed a sign that says proceeds from the washers go towards finding a cure for breast cancer. 💖
It was hard to find anything to dislike here. So I won't try. If this isn't a perfect holiday park, then in my mind it is close...
Read moreSo I will say that the service is not bad same with the room I will make a note that you cannot call this place pet friendly as your not aloud to have your pet in your room and has to sleep outside in the cold all night by its self and to me that's horrible I could not do that so please if your going to call your self pet friendly then attempt to be pet friendly like have rooms for pets or better accommodation for pets because when I pay to stay for a week and pay close to 900$ for the week I expect to be able to have my pet with me I have stayed all over timaru and one of the places was the grovsner and they are more pet friendly but I will make a note that when you on the second floor and you have a dog and there's no where for him to go to the toilet expect outside on the ground 3 blocks away because it's all town streets and its 4 am and he's wanting to go out its very difficult they were happy for the dog to stay in the room and there was no problems except the...
