One of the most exquisite lodges I stayed in while traveling New Zealand! Beautiful restoration for store and stables, with unique design touches throughout. The most remarkable luxury feeling with plush towels, thick linens and modern gleaming bathrooms. But the most fun part is breakfast, dine and served by the owners. This is our second time visiting Oliver’s House as part of a motorcycle tour of New Zealand and it was just as wonderful as we remembered it to be.

This place is amazing. A restored house and stables turned into beautifully oldie worldie guest rooms in the very pretty old town of Clyde. The breakfast in the morning is excellent. A great selection of cereals and fruit and also a very yummy egg option. The coffee is excellent and the service of David and Andrea (Andy) was exemplary. Our night here made us feel very special.

Lovely place. Owner David is a fantastic host and made us feel incredibly welcome. The room, with En-Suite in the Stables is beautiful and the breakfast the next morning was great. Highly recommended.

Oh where do we start!... Everything is just beautiful and to the credit of owners.|As soon as you arrive to this grand historic home, you can see every attention to detail, past and present, has been thought of.|The rooms are so calming and comfortable, but modern. We enjoyed a drink outside in the pretty, quiet garden, then only had to walk a few steps to the Restaurant, where the atmosphere and food matched, and the next morning our lovely array of breakfast, resulted in a perfect stay.|Worth just driving to Clyde to stay a couple of nights here, Bliss!... This is our second stay, and we will be...

Great hosts, Andrea and David. We stayed in the Naylor Room, the largest room by far (most are quite small). Very comfortable with adequate storage for our clothing and bags. Breakfast was very nice and the restaurant outstanding for dinner. Lots of peaceful outdoor seating. The hotel has a great location close to many fantastic wineries, biking, walking and boating. David was very helpful setting up winery tours and a luncheon. Cromwell, the town in which Oliver's sits, while very small is quite nice for some wool shopping or just wandering about. Highly recommended, particularly if you stay in the...

We stayed at Oliver’s Lodge and Stables on the front end of a multi day bike trek and at the Lord Clyde on the back end. David and Andrea Ritchie have done a fabulous job of renovating a group of buildings dating back to the mid-1800’s. The food on offer is terrific. The rooms are wonderful and very well equipped and the gardens are lovely. Andrea’s sister Victoria manages the Lord Clyde and Andrea is at Oliver’s. If you are riding the Central Otago trail, you would be doing yourself a disservice if you...
