I truly appreciate you taking the time to follow up on my feedback, it means a lot. I understand BON Hotel Kano has a strong reputation, and I believe in fairness, so I’d like to explain what led to my comment.
I wasn’t staying at the hotel as an individual guest, which is probably why you couldn’t find a reservation in my name. I was there as part of a program being held at the hotel.
During my time there, I had a few experiences that left me feeling quite uncomfortable:
When I went to eat a bit later than usual, a staff member asked me in a rather rude tone why I came late.
I was then asked to leave the restaurant, which made me feel quite embarrassed.
I was fasting that day and requested a takeaway meal after iftar. The cost was ₦1,000, but I didn’t have cash on me, and unfortunately, my mobile banking app wasn’t working at the time. I tried to explain, but I didn’t feel heard or supported.
These incidents may seem small, but the way they were handled made me feel unwelcome and that’s not what I expected from a hotel like BON.
Please know that I’m not trying to criticize for the sake of it. I genuinely believe that honest feedback helps improve guest experiences. I hope to visit again under better circumstances and experience the hospitality BON is known for.

Crazy thing was I paid a Chalet with a parlor for business meetings and my guests were not allowed o visit me as I was informed later the reason was 'hotel policy is not more than 8 people into one room' and after I argued that my guests are not more than 8, that arrogant manager changed his tone in saying'not more than 4 guests'! Read moreI had an amazing experience here. Staff is well mannered and courteous. The room I stayed in was excellent. I had tea or coffee with water as complimentary everyday till I left. The ambience and lighting was great.
Food was excellent, especially their buffet which is 6k per person. The fish I ate on of the mornings had no taste and when asked they said it could be from the particular cook on duty. They had no menu placed in the room, neither did they place their services. It was tiring always calling to find out which services they had.
Also make sure you ask for the prices of food before you eat.
