I stayed here in March 2024 and in January 2025. I will stay here again if I need a hotel in Lagos because overall, it’s good. However, there are opportunities for improvement. Rooms: During my December stay, we were consistently provided with two few towels that we needed for our room. For example, two people in one room and they consistently provided only one washcloth. I think their bathrooms are a bit of a trip hazard. The bottom of the bathtubs are not textured, and the side walls of the bathtub are higher than standard height compared to the US standard and for elderly folks this would be a challenge. The floor mats in the bedrooms beside the bed do not have grippers underneath them, so they consistently slide when you step on them - that is also a bit of a trip or fall hazard. About 3 times a day, you will hear a very short crackling sound from the PA system in your room. Seems it was more annoying during my first stay but it was better during my second stay. Service: The service for food, especially when you order off the à la carte menu, is extremely slow. During my December to January 2025 stay, one night, there were only seven people in the restaurant and it took us about an hour to get our food. The same thing happened in the afternoons when we were at the poolside - the food took a very very long time to be served. Thankfully, the food is flavorful and satisfying, however the wait is still too long. The general service for the pool area is also subpar. They do not have a supply of pool towels at the pool. For the two times we went to the pool, we had to request that someone be called to provide towels. The first day after we requested towels, a couple of towels were brought to us and the second day we requested towels, no towels were provided. On the pro side, their food buffet is good. The gentleman who makes custom omelettes during breakfast does a very good job. Location: The George Hotel location is great. Close to everything in Ikoyi and near Lekki. Unfortunately, one unpleasant experience you will contend with while outside at the poolside, is the very bad smell (not sure if it’s refuse or sewage) from a neighboring property that comes through with the breeze...
Read moreHad a very bad experience at this hotel and will not recommend it to anyone .
It was the worse quality of service , I ever had in any hotel , let alone a 5 star , and I told them so .
Was at the hotel’s main Reastaurant with some other board members of Bellavista apartments on Wednesday 13th November. We were having a meeting to be followed by dinner .
The Assistant manager , who refused to give me his name , came up to our table , as I tried to inform him that I had asked one of the waiters for a bottle of water for over an hour , he rudely responded that “ he was not here for that “ .
I went further to explain to him that we were having dinner shortly , again , he rudely told me that “ don’t go there “ and when I responded that I will not be having dinner because of his rudeness, his response was “ leave if you want to “
Having stayed in many 5 start hotels all over the world and in Lagos , I was shocked .
As I got up to leave and refused to have dinner at the hotel because of his rudeness , some of the others on my table also did .
As we left , I asked for the manger or owner , he followed me shouting loudly in front of the other guests that I should go ahead and call them now to complain.
I felt he knew that my complaints would not be addressed , and he was right !
I went to the reception and asked to speak to the GM, one Mr Theo Tiemessan, he listened to my complains and didn’t say a word, not an explanation or apology .
I left him my email address and never heard back from him or anyone at the hotel .
I am writing this to let other guests know that service in this hotel is the worst I have experienced in any , let alone a 5 star.
I and my group will certainly never stay or dine there in...
