Farris bad anmeldelse
Welcome: Farris bad is easy to find if you have access to a gps and know how to operate it! Recommend to park just up the street (70 meter) this option is free, which gives you 260Kr to use inn the bar.
Check-inn: At check in we were greeted with excellent service and information. The staff appeared friendly and welcoming. we were a bit late, so the reception postponed our dinner reservations without any hassle.
After check-inn: we went to the bar to collect our free aperitif witch was a cava. It was nice and the staff were very welcoming.
The Spa: You don’t need to pack swim gear since Farris bad are prepared to provide this for individuals that forget this.
For men the swim gear appears as a comfy boxer-short in brown.
For women it is a one-pice looking thing.
The showers before you enter is nice and the music gets you inn a calm mood. It is 1 big poole with different water fall spots and bubble things.
You have a highway where you can walk in warm water and cold water.(2 lanes in total)
It’s 1 jacuzzi inside and one outside, 1 steam sauna down stairs and 1 steam sauna upstairs, 3 finish sauna in total, lots of different showers, 1 infrared sauna, 1 meditation sauna with low temp and herbs in the air, 1 section with finish sauna and jacuzzi and a stair down to the ocean so you really can get the authentic cold plunge.
The late night package includes a tapas platter and some water. The platter was nice (7 out of then) and the spa was (8 out of 10)
Breakfast: The breakfast was really good, the staff was really nice and quick to fill everything that was empty up. It was fresh bread, fruit, lots of vegetables, different kind of eggs, good bacon, good coffee and lots of fruit.
(9 out of 10)
The Gym: The gym had everything i needed to complete a good workout. The equipment was a bit outdated but it was versatile so it was definitely possible to train different parts of the body. It was towel’s there to grab, water outside and a aux port so you could play your own music. I noted mold in the ceiling they should definitely fix that.
(6.8 out of 10)
Check out: Check out went smooth and reception even gave us a late check out so we had more time at the spa. The lady at the desk wasn’t as pleasant as the guy from check-in the day before.
She seemed bothered that i asked about the possibility’s off checking out later but granted the request which was really nice of her. She said it was something that wasn’t paid for and wanted me to pay it by card to check me out right there and then. When i said i would pay it when we were leaving by cash it seemed to really irritate her. When we left later on she didn’t charge me so maybe it was a mistake or she charged me by card even though i asked to pay it by cash.
They didn’t really ask how our stay was or anything like that but wished us a good day
All in all: Farris bad is a nice place to go to relax but wouldn’t recommend having dinner there. But maybe find some local restaurant in the area. Would recommend staying for 1 day not the full weekend (this depends on how much you need it) Don’t splurge on nicer room since it wasn’t really that much better. The hotel is kind of sterile and the spa is the main attraction.
Larvik is really nice if you have the weather with you, and it’s nice to walk by the beach!
Total cost was (6330 if you don’t add anything and 6950kr if you add 2 glasses of wine, extra cost for main course + desert.
Total point all in all (...
Read moreMy husband and I booked for 2 nights. Overall, we had higher expectations, but it was an okay experience.
Pros: The staff are incredibly lovely and happy to be there. Every question was answered, and they were very attentive. Fresh towels were brought each morning. The bed was amazingly comfortable! Towels were soft and the in-room products smelled amazing. The breakfast was decent with many options from traditional Norwegian breakfast to other options such as bacon & eggs, pancakes, etc. They also had delicious morning juices. Great start to the morning! Access to the ocean was exceptional and view was lovely. The evening sauna events (especially Matoma) were incredible! Such a relaxing and rejuvenating experience, and the instructor was awesome. The couple massage experience was so nice, and our masseuse Torril was the sweetest! She has been there for 13 years, and she really makes you feel at ease.
Cons: Overall spa experience is not worth the price. The spa itself had few saunas, a few jacuzzis, and an okay pool. Cleanliness was decent. The bathing suits included were not high quality, and my suit specifically came with a small hole at the seams despite being brand new. Their spa was rated as top in Norway, but the experience and spa itself was not worth the money and offered no real uniqueness aside from accessing the ocean. There were about 3 clocks in the whole spa, which makes being on time for daily sauna events a frustrating process of trying to stay near a clock. No phones are allowed either, so bringing a water-proof watch is recommended. For the price they charge, the only thing included was breakfast, so other fees for things was insane. Room service charge was 95 kr itself and parking was not included even if you used their designated garage, which had very limited spots. After driving hours to get there, it was disappointing to stress over parking and then have to pay for it as well. Dinner and lunch were also not included. Again, if you are charging almost 4500kr/night, it would be nice to have some basics included. The room was decent, but the bathrooms run small. Using the sink and shower caused quite a lot of water spillage.
Conclusion, this is a one-time place to visit. The price doesn’t match the experience, but overall it’s okay at least...
Read moreA good spa with great architecture, but much left to be desired with much of the rest stay - at least when the price level is taken into account.
The spa first: It looks good and has a good selection of rituals and activities. One obvious flaw is that a substantial share of guests fail to respect the "silent zones" and some bring their cell phones into the spa. Perhaps because staff is nowhere to be seen/too busy running around fixing things? These things detract significantly from the spa experience. The massage was a disappointment - at almost three times the price of budget massages like Squeeze, you would expect a more thought-through experience than a nice massage therapist and an uncomfortable massage bed. Spa management should visit Squeeze (or somewhere fancier) to increase the quality of the massage experience.
Other disappointing aspects: The booking process was less than ideal, with terms and condition that wasn't obvious to me, the customer, until after I had placed the order. Things I assumed was included were not, as you really have to read the fine print - if they don't explicitly mention it's included, don't assume it is. The time slots for the massages I booked were not decided until after booking, and the only available tims were very impractical (minutes before checkout). When you arrive at the hotel, be prepared for a long wait while the understaffed lobby tries to cope with the flow of customers.
The restaurant breakfast was very good, but just on par with the quality of most good Norwegian hotels - nothing exceptional. The dinner restaurant dinner was great, but the competence of the waiters is far from what one should expect at this price level - a waiter should know more about wine than that they can be red or white, and dry or sweet, at least when the a la carte menu has so few items that suggested wine pairing could...
