Larvik microbrewery AS — Restaurant in Larvik

This is a great venue, brewery and bar. They were setting up for the Euros semi-final on our visit and have made a huge effort with outdoor screen, bar and tables. Inside is a large venue split into different areas for bands etc and a bar selling their own beers and others. The staff were all super busy setting up but were happy to help us choose some beers to try. The beers are great - we had 2 sets of their 4 sample tasting measures and all were really nice beers (and I drink a lot of UK real ales). Well done to the owner and his team for creating such a great venue and excellent beer (and a nice cider) as well. Hopefully Larvik realises how lucky they are to have this place and make the effort to use it - would love to have this sort of venue in...

Visited July 23. Asked the person behind the bar which beer had the hoppiest flavour, she replied that the beer's didn't have hops in! And said they had a pilsner an IPA and cider. Muss mich meinem Vorredner anschließen. Wir waren unter der Woche da und es war wenig los. Beim reingehen haben wir das Personal gegrüßt, welches das Lokal zum Rauchen verlassen hatte. Wir setzen uns an einen Tisch. Nach 10 Minuten kamen die beide wieder rein, setzen sich hinter die Bar aber zeigten kein Interesse für ihre neuen Gäste. Nach weiteren Minuten sind wir dann selbst an die Bar gegangen und haben bestellt. Einzig positiv, das Bier war sehr lecker und man konnte von überall aus einen Bildschirm zum Fußball gucken sehen.

Als wir gegangen sind, haben wir uns auf Norwegisch (wir waren als Touristen dort) bedankt und verabschiedet. Wieder keine Reaktion des Personals, stattdessen hat man über uns gelacht. Einfach nur beschämend für dieses eigentlich...
