Mandal Hotel — Hotel in Lindesnes

I just arrived at this hotel and was met by incredibly friendly staff and a beautiful, spotless room with a large bed, TV, and everything you could need – plus an amazing view.

The only small issues were that the room was meant for two people but only had one set of towels, and the sink plug kept falling out, making it a bit hard for the water to drain. Apart from that, everything was fantastic. We even received bathrobes upon arrival and used the sauna down by the pier, taking dips in the river several times – a great experience!

The next morning, I thought breakfast ended at 11, but it actually ended at 10. Still, the staff went out of their way to fix me some fresh bread rolls and toppings, and I ended up having one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had, right in my room, with one of the best views imaginable.

In the evening, we also played some shuffleboard in the shared area, which was a fun bonus. All in all, an amazing stay – friendly staff, great facilities, and unforgettable...

Good restaurant, modern venue with a nice view of the town, collocated with the hotel. We had the fish soup which was a really big, generous serving with both fish, shrimp and mussels. Nice presentation and excellent value for money.

Positive with attentive staff. What draws down (room for improvement!) was the bread which was really boring store bought bread, and that instead of pepper and salt shakers there were single use sachets like some simple roadside grill. This felt completely out of place for what would otherwise have been a rather high class experience. If it's a Corona measure, I get it (though the sachets should then be served individually along with the meal and not left in a jar on the table where you have to touch all of them to get one out) - but may I instead suggest that you have the staff come and grind salt / pepper. Mandal Hotel is situated in a beautiful location, offering stunning views. However, our experience at the hotel was disappointing. Upon arrival, we had to wait a long time to receive our room keys, and one of the keys was not activated. The room itself was small and the view from the window was disappointing, overlooking the restaurant windows and trash cans.

Late in the evening, upon pulling back the covers on the bed, we discovered a stain, but as we didn't turn on the light, we couldn't see what it was... in the morning, we realized it was a s**t stain (or look like this) 🤮. The breakfast menu was very limited and the food was not to our liking.

The only positive aspect of our stay was the friendly bartender. Overall, our experience at Mandal Hotel was not enjoyable and we would not recommend...
