Don't be put off by the weird dodgy looking entrance to this place. You have to walk through a little market place and then up some stairs to the lobby. The owners are very friendly, and this hotel is great value. Showers were good - good water pressure, but hot water seemed to come and go. Beds were comfortable. The only problem we found was that the room was very hot and stuffy (which is weird, since it's a cold town). But the rooms all have fans in them, so this wasn't a huge issue once the fan was turned on, although we had to sleep with the fan on to stay cool. I didn't find the noise a huge problem. The hotel is located above a market place/shops, but I found the noise from this stopped around 9pm or earlier, so we didn't have any problems sleeping. Read moreWe stayed here during Holy Week when hotels usually increase their prices by up to 60%. Not this place. This hotel was only a five minute walk from the main plaza, near the markets and is extremely good value for the price. Very affordable. It also contained a tv/ cable and had natural lighting and windows which made a nice change from some of the dark and gloomy rooms we stayed in during our south american holiday. Some rooms contain jacuzzi's which we only found out about at the end of our stay sadly. Breakfast was basic but good and the beds were comfy. There is a bit of noise in the morning as the staff start cleaning quite early and there is some street noise. Staff very helpful although not alot of english spoken. ...
Read moreFrom the outside I would not have looked at it twice, in a "shopping center", across from the market....but it was a pleasant stay. Extra clean, comfortable, roomy. A few minor details and the room would have been great. It is noisy because there is a karaoke bar nearby, something my ear plugs helped with. And being across the central market was great! We had breakfast in the market the first day! In one stand we had our juice with the "yapa" (an extra) is enough for two. At another stand we had fresh milk with coffee and bread with cheese, the bread was fresh from the oven!! Price for a double was 50 soles per night. We stayed in a quad for 120 soles per night. Half a block from the Arch, two blocks from the Plaza de Armas. Safe, relaxing, oh just make sure you like stairs! Our room was on the fourth floor, the hotel starts on the...
