We stayed 2 nights in this quiet & comfortable inn with plentiful indoor & outdoor spaces to lounge quietly. The accommodations are simple, no frills but clean & tidy, the room price is minimal and you can purchase breakfast at the café on-site. Though the beds/pillows are well-worn, we were comfortable & the extra blankets came in handy for warmth. Water is a precious resource in Peru, and as you will find in most low-mid-priced accommodations, the water pressure reflects conservation. The wifi was not functioning most of the time, so if you depend on wifi you will find it inadequate here.||||The proceeds from the inn and café (& even a portion of tips) go to help a program for the deaf and an orphanage near Baños del Inca. It is a good place to stay if you are independent and don't need a lot of services because the office is not consistently staffed & the inn is also used for a tutoring space. We really enjoyed seeing the mixed of local & tourist use of this space and were happy to come & go with ease here. Though located on a busy street, once you step through the doorway into the central courtyard, the thick colonial walls block out the street noise and Los Jasmines becomes a sweet oasis. ||||¡Muchísimas gracias a todos en Los Jasmines! Read moreI had made reservations for Easter (2016) based on a lot of research - as Los Jasmines seemed to get great reviews. I booked more than one month in advance and confirmed it a week before we arrived. I was very clear in confirming the type of rooms we would have (3 rooms, each with private bathroom, not on the main street) and the staff confirmed this with me several times. When we arrived (in the very early am) it seemed they had given one of the rooms we had reserved (a single) to another person and so they had to give us a bigger room - and they charged us more for it. And another of our rooms was not away from the street - as we had requested. When I reminded them that we'd made this reservation and reconfirmed it and that they shouldn't charge us more for their error, they didn't seem to care at all - and I spoke with two administrators about it. So we ended up paying more even though they made two major mistakes on our reservation. I wouldn't consider staying here again - this caused us a great deal of stress and made for an...
Read moreThe hotel is conveniently located at 2 "cuadras" (city blocks) from the "plaza de armas" (main square). The entrance is at a busy street, so if that bothers you, ask for a room on the side of the building or in the back.
The rooms are basic with hot water while it lasts. They are clean and kept tidy every day.
Staff is always there and very pleasant and helpful.
They don't serve breakfast, but one of the best cafés is located inside the hotel, at the back next to the small but pretty garden. I can recommend the cafe and the (Dutch) apple pie.
Wifi in the hotel is one of its weak points as it constantly fails and is only usable half of the time (hence only 3 stars). The wifi in the café is good though.
All in all recommended with...
