Hostal Las Brisas — Hotel in Huanchaco

After many years away from South America, we returned to Huanchaco and stayed at Las Brisas for 2 lots of several days.||Well situated, one street off the malecon ( esplanade) it is quiet and removed from the traffic noise.||A very relaxed hostal, a great place to relax after your daily tours and exploring.||||For us the best part of staying here where our hosts, the couple managing the day to day running of the hostal, Yuyi and Louis, what a lovely couple, anything we asked of them, they were happy to assist us.||||Great breakfast included in the room rate, bicycles available to use, and a great little courtyard to relax in.||||Nothing is too much trouble for the owners and managers.||We had a very relaxing and pleasant stay here, a very big thanks to Yuyi and Louis.||||Un abrazo...

I waffled between 2 and 3 stars for this Hostal. It was clean, staff were friendly and helpful but it was definitely budget and very basic. No frills here. It's set back a couple of blocks from the main street that parallels the beach so it's very quiet. Accommodations were adequate but somewhat on the spartan side. The desk is not always staffed but it appears the owners live on site and by calling out I could get somebody to come help when I needed it. Breakfast was not included which it usually is here. That helped tip the scales to a "poor" rating, though that may be a bit harsh. There just doesn't seem to be a really strong case for them, though nothing about Las...

The owner is super cool - she was extremely nice and friendly we had about 5 rooms booked in the hostel. She was lenient on some rules but the cleaning was a downer I guess since it was during the holidays and there was a lot of us there was no cleaning while we stayed so we had sand everywhere and the water was off for a little bit since it wasnt used to handling a lot of people at one time. The prices were great though we stayed in a 4 person room for only 15 soles a night which included new years price she discounted since we were a large group. The place was just a block away from the beach and the restaurants- great location. Loved the hospitality. Will stay again...
