We have stayed in this hotel for two nights from 14th till 16th of September.||||In general hotel is good. Quite good location and hotel itself is actually well maintained. ||||1. Hotel in general and location.||As mentioned above, hotel is actually quite well located. It is within walking distance from the main square and from the shopping center. there are also quite few grocery stores around. So if you need anything, it is there. also, as it is situated on one of the main roads, it is quite easy to catch taxi or Tuk-Tuk if needed. ||||To get to the reception from the main door you have to walk quite few stairs up, as reception is located on the 2nd floor, and there is no lift. So can be fun. However I have seen sign that they are building lift, so this might change soon.||||Reception area and actually whole hotel is quite modern, tidy and welcoming. ||||2. Room||We have stayed in double bed room. Again, like whole hotel, room was clean with all necessary amenities you might need. Comfortably bed, good quality TV, free Wi-Fi, etc. Bathroom with hot water (I know it sounds funny, but from reviews we were expecting that we not suppose to take it for granted). So in general good room.||Of course there were some minuses as well. The view was rather limited by some roof structures. There is no air-condition in the room, which during the summer must be quite unpleasant and during winter makes the room quite cold. Also, there were not enough power sockets, which for tourists might be inconvenience as there is always a lot of electronic devices to charge.||||3. Staff||Staff was very friendly and helpful in all occasions. Especially Fernando, who helped us to organize all our trips. He has a good sense of how to deal with customers , how to help them and how to make them to feel welcome.||||Summarizing. Gran Hotel Ica is a good hotel to stay. It offers all necessary amenities which tourist might need for a short stay. It is not a luxury hotel but it's worth it's price. I could easily...
Read moreWe drove from Lima to Pisco and Paracas, and decided to stay the night in Ica before heading to Nazca. This place was great if you have a busy schedule. It is not a big hotel but the rooms are clean and comfortable. The stay included breakfast and parking for the car as long as we called in advance. We went in November so it is kind of low season and the hotel was not full. The front desk people were very nice. They helped us booked the tour to "La Huacachina" the oasis in the dunes. The hotel is like 7 min from the dunes you can even take a taxi there. We did the tour at sunset and it was beautiful. Then they took us back to the hotel and the front desk guy recommended us several restaurants within walking distance. Breakfast was delicious, they make it on the spot! It was a...
Read moreThis place was amazing. The lobby was nice and so were the employees. The lobby was clean, the rooms were impressively clean and nice. The beds were comfy, and the tv had many channels. The area in was nice and seemed safe. There was a place called "caprichos" a few blocks away with an amazing sandwiches (moto taxi 2soles).|There's a mall about a block away. |They serve breakfast in the AM which was nice.||Cons: stairs at the front, not sure how a person in a wheel chair would get up the first 10 steps. There's an elevator after that.|And you are not supposed to throw toilet paper in the toilet, instead in the garbage bin....
