Hotel Nilas — Hotel in Tarapoto

Thanks to one local mototaxi driver (caled Jimi), we managed to find this hotel during the night. Prices were medium but standard was very good. Hotel is located half block from main square. It has swimming pool, breakfast included in price of the room, hot water in rooms available almost all the time, great restaurant and games area. Hotel service is very kind and happy. During the breakfast you can get tea/coffee, juice (depends on kitchen), bread, fruits, jam, butter, cereals. Additionally, each morning, kitchen is preparing different main meal. So it is impossible that you will not find something good for you. Also we had a pleasure eat there dinner, which was delicious. Next to the hotel, on the right side, there is a restaurant, where you can eat good food. Only the owners have some weird deal with local musicians, and each night comes different band to play for few minutes and collect money. Have stayed here 10 times in past 15 years. Is centrally located 1/2 block from town square. Over the years they have continued to up grade and modernize it, including an elevator for all the floors. Last stay was for 31 days. Treated like family by all the staff, good food, breakfast is either typical of the region or American. Pool and rooms are cleaned daily, accommodation very comfortable, A/C in all rooms of various sizes. Laundry service and dine in upon request. Transportation to and from the airport. Travel agency in the hotel. Safe and secure entrance at all hours of the day or night. We travel to this city to visit my wife's family and would stay NOWHERE else. The prices are...

I came here alone as a limited Spanish speaking female American and I am so grateful for the experience I had. Firstly, the location is perfect- literally a 2 min walk from the town square. The rooms were lovely and clean, and after being in the jungle for a week, the AC saved my life. The breakfast was delicious, the juices were fresh, and the lunch/dinner prices were very fair. Jorge, the hotel manager, was INCREDIBLE. He helped me every step of the way and showed genuine concern for my well being. He was so kind and friendly and by the time I left he felt like family to me. I would 10000% stay here again....
