Nice place, and their function hall is just enough to accommodate 200 pax capacity when we held the graduation rites of our mandatory schooling last March 18, 2022.

A home away from home. A very friendly and accommodating staff & personnel and guards. Beautiful rooms with Aircon/tv/refrigerator, a cozy wine counter.

The food was not nearly as good as I thought it would be. It's only saving grace is that draught beer is included in the price.

Let start with the positive about this hotel..||You got a very nice room for a very good price.||The room is big enough, nice good bed, good flat screen TV, a small desk, small refrigerator, a good air con..Hot water in the shower, but the bath room is very small, so when you take a shower every thing get wet.||This hotel is located in a little remote place, with only a few small kiosk around, but it is a lot of trixe that pass the hotel all time, so very easy and only a cheap 10 minutes ride to get into city center with stores and restaurants..|| ||This is a new hotel, that has never been build finished, as you see some half way finished construction. We lived in second floor so we did not need to use the elevator, that has never been installed in this 7 floor building (most occupied rooms are in 2 second floor, some few in 3 and 4 floor), They are very willing to carry your luggage.||||When we arrived around 4 pm, we was hungry after or long trip, but the chef was at the marked, so they could only offer use some very small hamburger and simple sandwiches.. ( Mc. Donalds small cheeseburger is same size as theirs , but much better and cheaper). Third day we went down to eat lunch around 4.pm, but same story again Chef at the marked, so only Hamburgers and sandwich again..Why is it only the chef that can make food and why does he go to marked at lunch time , not early when marked open and people only want simple easy breakfast, that some the others can make.in the morning ??..We eat dinner one time their, some seafood mix, ok, food but very blend..They have a big menu with different kind of food, but reality is that they only have half of the menu available. As other has also wrote about the last years. They must take more responsibility for their hotel guest, since nearest restaurant is a 10 minute trix ride away They are even short of beverage, as no Cola can and San Miguel light beer.. ||||The staff is nice, but very inexperienced and some speak bad English ,As always I ask reception staff about transport cost in a new city I visit, when I asked about how much a taxi cost to international airport, she told me the price was 1500 peso, I price I found very high.Truth was that with use the taxi meter in this 1 hour taxi ride was the price 460 peso from the hotel, I did not new the prices, so I thought I had made a good deal when I offered taxi driver 700 peso in advance, If staff had told me to go for the meter price would I had saved around 200 peso. if the management hire in experienced staff, should they at least train them properly..||||Funny , several times had the staff problems to give you change back, since it seems like they have no cash in reception and restaurant, Twice had they to go outside to change your 500 or 1000 bill and one night we come home at 11.pm, stand the receptionist outside the entrance and ask me and other if we could change a 500 peso bill . I suspect this hotel has very bad economy , since not finished construction, not finished elevator, half menu,, only one experienced chef that only he can go to marked. and never change.||||My worst problem and the biggest reason why I will never go back to this hotel, is that it was no internet in my room or any other place in this hotel for the 4 days I lived there. Has never happened before that had no internet in 4 days. In the other 15 to 20 hotels I have visit in Philippines has Internet never been down so long time, maybe only one day max. . My experienced with other hotel is that if it is a internet problem, can the internet company send a technician next day that will fix and solve the internet problem.. My understanding was that they used a local internet guy that with no luck could not fix the internet the day he was trying to repair it..||||My guess again, is that hotel had no money to use a real internet provider to replace and repair internet parts...||||Sad, this is nice hotel with a good room to a nice price, little remote , but good transport possibilities close to the hotel.. ( They write on Agoda they have their own airport transfer, wrong again).||But service is very bad in this hotel, with very inexperienced staff, limited restaurant, no internet service, I blame this mostly on management and owners.||||And I can not understand that this hotel is on the top list of hotels in CDO, I will in future not believe to much first time reviewers that gives hotel like this hotel top...

I stayed at the Golden Stallion Suites for two nights (April 22-24, 2017). Here are my impressions/experiences:||||LOCATION: None of the taxi drivers seemed to know this place. Simple tell the 21st and 27th Streets in Nazareth and they will be able to go right to it. The cost of a taxi from Limketkai Mall (the one closest to the hotel) was consistently between 60 and 64 pesos ($1.20 to $1.28). ||||They call it "suites" but it is a simple hotel. The decor is very funky and filipino. You can look at the photos online to get a taste. It works on a cute level and I would stay there again without hesitating.||||The hotel is in a primarily residential area that is very dark at night. I walked a few minutes to a local convenience store (Cham's) at 10 pm and felt safe at all times. ||||ROOMS: I was in room 701 on the top floor. The room is very small but clean, quiet and acceptable. The cable TV was in and out sometimes, but generally ok. The bed and pillow are that spongy material that can be uncomfortable, but I slept well even though I prefer a rock-hard mattress for my back.||||The bathroom is clean and has a showerhead without separation from the toilet or rest of the bathroom. It is common in the Philippines and works well enough. I will give them credit for having HOT water in the shower, thanks to a small unit that is connected to the shower head. I have been in five star hotels that did not have even warm water. Good job Golden Stallion Suites.||||The air-conditioner is high on the wall and adequate. I was sweaty in the room until the unit operated for a while. I slept well.||||There is no refrigerator in the room.||||INTERNET: They have free wifi in the hotel but it was absolutely impossible to login on the 7th floor. I tried everything and it was never available. I was able to login when I was in the lobby/restaurant area.||||FOOD: I ate breakfast in the hotel. When you go downstairs, DO NOT just sit at the tables and expect someone to ask you what you want. Go over to the bar area and tell someone what you want. ||||When I went to eat, I sat at a big table with a nice Canadian man and his Filipina wife. They were served food after about 10 minutes but no one asked me what I wanted so I realized that I had to find someone.||||I ate the cornsilog since that seemed to be available and popular. Cornsilog is a scoop of rise, corned beef with onions, and a fried egg. It was very good and I had it the second morning too.||||All in all, it was a nice and very reasonably-priced budget hotel. The staff were very polite and called me "sir" 4 or five times per sentence. There are more upscale hotels in Cagayan de Oro, but in a pinch, try the Golden Stallion Suites for a simple and...

This hotel is very intricately adorned and would mostly appeal to the "elder" taste of European/Mediterranean stereotypes. Cool bang for the buck, you can get a nice room for less than a grand. The hotel seems new, not sure if the elevator is already busted or hasn't been into operation yet. Getting there is a little tricky, but with Google map this days that won't be a problem. If you don't want to get a cab, go a for a Jeepney heading to Cogon and get off Nazareth Petron station, catch a "motorella" (motorcycle with 2 extension wheels and a giant carriage) to the place, we figured this one out the first time. Back to the place, the staff were not so bad, the receptionist was helpful, although I think she was missing that extra touch to help you out, but with the price can't complain. Hot/cold shower, small flat screen TV, and zero balcony view, lol. Recommended for the backpacker and the budget traveler types, you would seriously be pleased with what your 900 or so can get in this hotel. Somehow I got a feeling they'll be hugely understaffed during the Christmas season. With a little dusting and spraying once a week or two, this place would...
