â ïž DISAPPOINTING STAY at FB Dormitel Suites, Cagayan De Oro â NOT SENIOR CITIZEN FRIENDLY, NOT PWD FRIENDLY, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE â ïž
We stayed at FB Dormitel Suites (April 19â20, 2025), and it was one of our worst hotel experiencesâespecially while traveling with senior citizens and a PWD.
Booking: We reserved three rooms by phone (March 31) and one via Agoda for our group of 20. I confirmed in advance that takeout breakfast boxes would be available for our elderly companions for P20 eachâthis was important to our plans.
Check-In: We arrived around 8â9 PM. No one welcomed or assisted us. We carried our bags into the lobby, and staff barely acknowledged us. I had to approach the front desk to begin check-in.
Breakfast â April 20: Between 7:30â8:00 AM, CafĂ© Maximo told us there was no rice ready due to a broken cooker and asked us to wait 20 minutes. We were understanding.
After breakfast, I requested the two takeout meals we had pre-arranged for our seniors. A staff member simply said, âWala na po kaming takeout box.â No apology, no alternatives, no help offered.
I reminded them we confirmed this weeks earlier and insisted they find a solution. Instead, a woman named JUDYâwhom I wasnât speaking toâinterjected rudely: âFree na nga yung breakfast niyo, maâam. Kung gusto niyo ng takeout, edi sana nagdala kayo ng box.â
I asked for her name, and she said, â*JUDY. TELL THE MANAGER.â Then walked out.
Attempts to contact the manager were ignored. Another staff member apologized, but the damage was done.
Final Thoughts: This place lacks basic courtesy and consideration, especially for elderly and differently-abled guests. Poor service, broken promises, and outright disrespect define our experience.
To fellow travelers with seniors or PWD: Avoid FB Dormitel Suites. 0/5 stars. Never...

Our family stayed at FB Dormitel Suites in Cagayan de Oro, and we did not have a good experience at all. From the moment we arrived, we felt unwelcome. There was no orientation, no proper guidance, and definitely no warm hospitality. The staff did not make us feel like guestsâthey barely acknowledged us, even when we arrived as a large group.
The most upsetting part of our stay was the behavior of the staff, especially a woman named Judy. Her attitude was extremely disrespectful, especially when we tried to request takeout for our senior and PWD family members. Instead of helping or offering any alternatives, she answered in a rude tone and said:
âLibre na nga yung breakfast niyo, maâam. Kung gusto niyo ng takeout, edi sana nagdala kayo ng box.â (Translation: âYour breakfast is already free, maâam. If you wanted takeout, then you shouldâve brought a box.â)
This kind of treatment is unacceptableâespecially when dealing with senior citizens and people with disabilities. When we tried to escalate the matter, no manager was available, and no real accountability was taken.
If youâre traveling with family, especially with elderly or differently-abled members, we do not recommend this place. Itâs not senior-friendly, not PWD-friendly, and the lack of professionalism from the staff made it even worse.
Weâre sharing this so others can make informed decisions. We expected at least basic courtesy and decency, but unfortunately, FB Dormitel Suites failed us in...

We recently stayed at a hotel in Cagayan de Oro with our family, including senior citizens and a person with disability (PWD). Sadly, the experience left us frustrated and disappointed.
From the moment we arrived, there was a noticeable lack of hospitality. No staff welcomed us or offered help as we brought in our things, despite being a big group. Small gestures matter, especially after a long tripâbut we were met with indifference.
One of the most frustrating parts was breakfast. We had confirmed ahead of time that meals could be packed for our elderly family members who couldnât come down easily. However, when we asked, we were told takeout boxes were no longer availableâjust like that. No apology. No alternatives. Just a cold âwe donât have it.â
When we tried to explain the situation, one staff member responded rudely, dismissing our concern entirely. It was disheartening, especially since we had made the request in advance to accommodate our senior and PWD companions.
It became clear to us that the place was not equipped or trained to handle guests with special needs. The lack of empathy, proper communication, and accountability from the staff only made things worse.
We hope this feedback reaches the right peopleânot to spread hate, but to spark improvement. Families with elderly or differently-abled members deserve better care and...
