CDO's BEST RESTAURANT (SHH... I THINK IT'S A SECRET).
Hi there! CDO's top foodie here.
THE SPACE: Resto Freeno is on a quiet street. There isn't much parking. There is an outdoor area with bar-stool type seating, and the indoor area is air conditioned. The decor is pleasant. It's a cut above what you can expect to find in CDO, but you don't come here for the decor. THE SPACE: 4 stars.
THE FOOD: Unlike other people who post on here, I visited this restaurant 5 times before writing a review, and I can say that everything on the menu is (a) original, (b) high quality, and (c) interesting. This truly is gourmet dining. Even the French fries were served with home-made tartar sauce. The simplest-sounding entrees had unexpected flavors. The presentation was great. The homemade ice creams were astounding. (Seriously... blue-pea ice cream was pea-flavored... and it was amazing.) The juices were all fresh squeezed. (Try the beet root or the lemon basil or the apple cucumber... or just go for fresh-squeezed orange juice. They are all fantastic.) Even their beer selection is a cut above what you would find anywhere else. This food is every bit as good as you would find in top spots in Manila or Cebu or beyond. THE FOOD: 5 stars.
THE PRICE: The price for what you get is absolutely reasonable. Some of the prices are a bit higher than you typically see, but the gourmet dishes are very reasonably priced. This is high-end dining, so expect to pay 400 to 800 per person for a full dinner with drinks and dessert. But you simply cannot get a meal of this quality for cheaper anywhere else. THE PRICE: 5 stars.
THE SERVICE: The service is absolutely fine. The only complaint I have is there were no offers to refill empty drinks, and our two appetizers arrived 5 minutes apart. But the wait staff were attentive and, when asked, generally knowledgeable about what the food they were serving. THE SERVICE: 4-1/2 stars.
SUMMARY: Resto Freeno simply has the most fantastic food in Cagayan De Oro. The menu is top-notch, varied, and I have yet to be disappointed by anything I have tried... and I have tried 20 things on the menu so far. There is a lot of love going into this place, and it is really amazing that it has stayed "under the radar" for so long, since it easily goes toe to toe with the best restaurants in the city. I highly recommend it.

Location: 4/5 Food and Drinks: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Service: 4/5 Price: 4/5
Overall Feedback: The location is close to Divisoria Downtown which is accessible and about 5 minutes unless traffic is slow. Limited street parking availability if you are driving but the area is quiet. The resto is very cozy and with rustic decor enough to make you feel homey and is better looking than most restaurant in CDO. The interior is nice and the place is not packed so it was a good venue to dine and relax a bit after a long day. The staffs were attentive enough. They can be more personal to elevate that customer service experience. But they refilled the water without even calling them. The food choices was diverse, original, and enough to satisfy your cravings. Coming from Manila and Cebu, the food was great and can compete with good restaurants. The price is reasonable with the quality and serving size.
Do I recommend this place? Absolutely!!! Overall, Resto Freeno is a top-tier restaurant in Cagayan de Oro City. Highly...

I appreciate how they decorated the space. It looked homey. While the corners are well thought out, the seats near the toiler area smell odd (like some sort of old house).
Took a while since our orders came; we waited for about 25 minutes. Everything was filling but the taste of different dishes are either a hit or miss. I was so excited about the peanut butter cake, but it was dry. The prices are a little higher than average.
Btw, they sell really good...
