OYO 491 J & H Apartments — Hotel in Cebu City

"We had a perfect holiday experience at J and H apartment!" It is flawlessly clean, extremely spacious, and well stocked with extra towels, soap, and shampoo, plus drinking water, coffee, or tea right at our fingertips. Our 2-bedroom unit is perfectly complete with its own cozy and welcoming medium-sized living room, bathroom, dining room, and kitchen. It is fully equipped with the things we need, like a large fridge, cable TV, free internet, and a great-performing air conditioner. The place has a well-designed, relaxing patio to unwind on or for outdoor lounging, dining, etc. Kudos to the manager and staff, who are all exceptionally welcoming, accommodating, friendly, helpful, and simply the best at making everything for us exactly what we want. The apartment is cleaned daily, well maintained, and pretty safe. We enjoy living in Midtown. Its location is ideal for our needs, as it is close to numerous fantastic local food stalls and restaurants that are less pricey compared to restaurants uptown. Food ordering is also one call away through Food Panda's delivery service. Department and grocery stores are just nearby as well. Everything we need is within walking distance. If we choose to get a ride, we can easily get a taxi or ride on a jeepney. It's a quiet and serene place to stay, and the intimate setting and feel-at-home comfort are simply perfect for relaxation after a long day or weekend. We were definitely happiest with our choice and would definitely go back...

We had a lot of problems in the Apartment initially allotted to us. When we reached the Apartment here was no water in the toilet sink. The gas burner was not working (the owner gave some lame excuse that the cooking facilities were to be provided only for long-stay guests, even though the home advertised fully equipped kitchen!). We had to ring up the owner who turned up after about 40 minutes. We were then shifted to the upper floor, an Apartment which was better appointed than the dingy ground floor one. In that Apartment also fixing of the gas burner and wifi took considerable time. We had come after a long journey and were very upset about this lack of professionalism. ||After that the home became reasonably livable.||Be aware that the home charges you 75 PHP for a towel (the owner showed kindness and gave us the towels free!). There is a washing machine in the ground floor which the au-pair girl would operate, but there is a charge of 180 PHP for that even though washing machine is mentioned as a part of the available facilities in the Apartment. If you request for a late check out, there is a charge of 100 PHP per hour. Also, be aware of the fact that the Apartment is in a side Street, sometimes difficult to locate by taxi drivers, with no good convenience...

Rented at J & H Apts on F. Pacana St. in Labangon for 3 months (before the pandemic) and could not wait to move out. It is privately owned and is run in a very amateurish manner. The people who work there, especially the housekeeping staff are full time gossips, watching everything you are doing and passing judgment on rather they approve of your guests or not. I know this because I had two separate lady friends who came to visit me, and both complained about the attitude of the people who let them in through the front gate. Anyway, I like it much better where I am renting now, because it is a large condo building and the staff there are much more professional and none of my guests have ever had a problem with the people...
