Overall, my stay at Herbs Guest House was adequate, offering a good base for exploring Moalboal. There were some definite positives, but also some areas that wasnt pleasant What I enjoyed: Value for money: The price was very good, especially considering the spaciousness of the room. It's difficult to find decent accommodation in this price range in Moalboal, beyond basic dorm rooms.

Room: The room was spacious and comfortable, with a particularly well-designed layout. I especially appreciated the separate area between the bathroom and bedroom, perfect for storing luggage and keeping things tidy. The bed and pillows were also comfortable. Breakfast: The breakfast provided was generous and well-prepared. While there were only three options, the quality was evident, and it felt like genuine care was put into the meals. The Power Bowl was a particular highlight. I also appreciated when they made sandwiches for us on our early check-out day. Location: While slightly removed from the main tourist area (about 3km), the location was manageable, especially with scooter

What I didn't enjoy:

Service: The service was a significant detractor. The overall atmosphere felt impersonal, and interactions with staff were often underwhelming. The receptionist, in particular, seemed consistently unhappy and disengaged. While she made some attempts at politeness, they felt insincere and almost passive-aggressive. This impacted the overall experience.

Water Pressure: The shower water pressure was extremely weak, making it difficult to have a proper shower.

Housekeeping: Over my seven-day stay, the room was not cleaned even once. Towels were not changed, and the bed linens were not refreshed.

Pricing of Extras: The prices for extra services, like airport transfers, were considerably higher than what I found in town. The food menu also seemed overpriced (see attached photos).

Summary: If your primary focus is finding affordable accommodation with comfortable rooms and you are prepared to manage with minimal service, Herbs Guest House could be a...

This place had the most accommodating staff ever!!!! They helped us with everything! The little bungalows where super cute and homey and the bathroom was so unique we loved it! |On one of the days our fan broke and they brought us a new one straight away to make sure we had some sort of aircon which was extremely helpful. On the last day there was a power cut of some sort which was completely out of there control but we had our flights that evening and needed to shower so the owner ( I think) and the wonderful reception brought us huge buckets of water that I have no idea how they carried to us as they where extremely heavy but they didn’t everything they could to help us before we leave which was so helpful and we appreciated it so much as it was a life saver! They even offered us complimentary drinks as an apology for the situation! They where all so amazing especially the two girls (who I didn’t ask for names unfortunately) but the girl in reception and the girl at breakfast they where amazing!!! We also got a tour with one of the girls husband who took us to see the turtles and sardines and he made the the experience amazing so I would highly recommend asking for that! |I would...

At a first glimpse, the place is cozy and extremely nice, built as a typical local accommodation. Cleaning could be much improved, we had a big room but I didn’t feel it was as clean as it should be. Plus we encountered many larvas on the wall which was a bit disgusting, and in our bathroom there was something leaking (couldn’t fix it was the toilet or the washbasin). However, for the price we paid, it was more than perfect and I believe you can’t ask more. There is free water, the service is nice and breakfast is also very good. Far away from any activity or restaurant, so make sure to rent a car or a bike.

The food here deserves absolute 5/5. Hands down the best food I’ve had in the Philippines. The staff are atrocious, which is a shame. They need new waitresses. They sit behind the desk on their phones and you can’t get their attention. They are beyond unattentive. We wanted to order dessert on our second visit (the food is so good we did come back), but the waitress wanted to give us the bill. Real shame because the food is excellent. You should still visit and just pray they’ve seen this and gotten new wait staff.
